I'm not normally a point and click kind of guy, but when I saw this game on sale, I figured, why not? The story sounded good, the setting rather interesting, and I wanted to see how they pulled off their cartoon-like graphics in a M-rated game. Overall I was pleasantly surprised!

The artistic style fit well together and, while it didn’t stand out as remarkable, complemented the “feel” of the game nicely, which is what graphics are supposed to do.

There were several twists and turns that made the story interesting, though as a whole it was not quite as dark or intense as I was led to believe. The amnesia effect was well done though, as you would relive each memory that the character remembered, and have to piece together the timeline as you went.

The main character was well done and very identifiable, and the villain had relatable motives for doing what he was doing. There were also a few stereotypes, but overall the characters felt fresh and believable. Voice acting was also good, with a few slight hiccups (not literally of course) along the way. Things like one character being quieter then the other one, and one character who occasionally slips back into younger version of his character while still playing the older version (not sure if that was intentional but it felt weird).

The ending was good but did feel a bit rushed,

In conclusion, it was an interesting game that I'm glad I played, though I definitely wouldn't have paid full price for it, but then again, this is a genre that for the most part I refuse to play, so getting me to play it AND THEN write a review about it is saying something! ;)

Not worth full price

I really enjoyed playing this game, but it's very short (4-5 hr). It would be worth it for about $10, but I wouldn't pay the full $30 for this game.

The storyline moves from a spectacular start to a middling end.

It was definitely a fun playthrough, but wait for this to go on sale.

I've played through the game in ~5 hours or so. Sure, the game started out great but the story deteriorated drastically over time. It started out in a psycho horror story line but unfortunately it took (in my opinion) a wrong turn like a third in to the game. The other two thirds of the game I didn't care for at all... So no, not the best story I've seen in a adventure game.

I din't really like art style either but it didn't bother me as much as I though it would. Over time I stopped to notice the the things that bugged me about the it.

Actually the biggest and most irritating thing about this game that I've found so far, is that the background music is often higher then the dialogue so I couldn't hear what the characters where saying sometime. There was no option to adjust separate sound channels the music vs. voice option like there normally is but instead there was a master channel.

Anyway, personally I can't recommend you to buy this game based on the story (although some people seem to like it) and the sound issues that I've experienced.

And finally I must say the positive things about it had a few jokes in there somewhere that where a little, how shall I put it, "amusing".

If the price is right (sale) and you are really curious about the game, sure go ahead and buy it, but I don't think you should do it at full price. I personally payed ~8€ or so and I don't really regret it. But I can not give it more then two stars...

Yesterday is amazing!

One of the most solid adventure games in a loooonng time. Beautiful HD comic book style artwork and a moderate difficulty sets this apart from the many casual seek and find games nowadays. This has a huge dose of the Gabriel knight days for those of us who loved playing them. Really engaging story that is definately for 16+ age groups only - not only for violence and language, but the plot twists and turns can really only be appreciated by this age, to be honest. Maybe because I was enjoying it so much the time flew and the game was over a little sooner than I would have liked, but overall I love this studio and I need a sequel to this game pronto. But it now!

Excellent macabre mystery/horror story and game - most definitely for Mature audiences only. The story unfolded beautifully with unanticipated surprises and twists. The game mechanics were good but found sometimes combining articles a bit hit and miss - this was not too annoying and I made healthy use of the hint. The graphics, music and visual areas were great - and the way the characters were able to move straight to the action without waiting for them to "walk" was very welcome.

Overall would actually give 4.5 stars but wasn't able to get the voting bar to accommodate me. Highly recommended.
