NecroVisioN: Lost Company review

An awesome game no doubt. Not only is the theme WW1, which is rare enough, but also demons and zombies! I like this version better than the previous title, because it tells the story of the Germans.

More of the same.

Lost Company is a stand-alone prequel to NecroVision. It tells the story of the German military scientist who was the player's adversary through most the first game. As with the base game, the story is mildly interesting but full of clichés and rather badly told. Gameplay, hasn't evolved much, either. You still shoot and slash your way through hordes of Imperial German troops as well as demons. The weapon variety seems to be a little smaller this time around (due to playing as a German, i suppose) but there are more vehicle-based sections, including a ride in a French tank and an aerial battle against a dragon (!) in a German WWI fighter plane.

If you liked the (slightly superior) first game, you'll get more of the same with Lost Company.

This prequel is almost identical to the original game. It's obvious this is an expansion and not a series sequel. That doesn't bother me though. Painkiller did the same and certain games you just can't get enough of. One this is for sure though. This game kicks off in the middle of friggin' hell! Not that smoothe way of learning the controls and steadily ease into the gameplay. Nope, Lost Company just drops you straight in the middle of it. It's obvious that this is intended for people who played the original game, and I... I LIKE IT!

Very similar to the original Necrovision, though in this one you're the evil german from the first game. You get some different guns, but other than that, it's just more old school shooter goodness.

Basically more of the same as Necrovision itself, only this time you play as the psychotic German doctor from Necrovision rather than Foghorn Leghorn.

There's nothing extremely noticeable I have to say about the expansion that makes it so different than the first. As such, I would recommend it to fans of Necrovision as well as newcomers who want to get a taste of the story; glitches have been repaired, graphics have been upgraded, and since it's a prequel you can play it before or after Necrovision the first.

The original was actually quite good. Dark, scary, a decent difficulty level, entertaining and fun. This sequel is buggy as hell with graphical glitches that make it unplayable. I wish they had stuck to their original code and everyone would have been happy. So sad.

This game surprised me in that it's even better than the first one. The devs got rid of a lot of quirks and it's neat to see a scenario from the 'enemy' perspective, coming as it does before the plot of the first game and highlighting the creation of the main antagonist from that game. Apart from that, it's pretty much the same type of game as the first one: an action shooter against human and supernatural forces. It doesn't pretend to be anything but a throwback to a simpler time and therein lies the charm.

NecroVision: Lost Company is much like the first one except that you have a few more weapons and some other small changes. Basically, if you lkiked the first one get this one cause its basically the same besides the story.

Lost Company covers the story before teh first game with new levels, characters, weapons and more upgrades.

Has the same formula as the first game, a horror fps with decentt enough action and combat. rather flawed but fun and satisfying melee combat is still here.

Fast paced zombie slaughtering game that explodes with blood and gore on your face in all its glory.

having played the original Necrovision, the game so far has stayed with the same formula as before, with this the case i cannot give it anything more than a 2 stars for i cannot justify the graphics style or the somewhat problematic combat system

Lost company is a game which has little to offer above the original game, there are no improvement to graphics, combat or even in some areas area design (with some areas very linear to cut and paste areas which were used from the original game!)

it had so much to offer however it does not justify that of what a triple AAA game can offer even at half the price

The game, as you can tell with a glimpse, is about killing everything that attacks you and the greatest thing about Necrovision: There are so many ways of doing this! You can kick, use knives and axes, along with some brutal machineguns and shotguns.

All along my playthrough, this reminded me of the great game called Painkiller. If you have played it, there's no reason that you will not enjoy Necrovision.

The BEST part: Just when you start to think that the game is becoming repetitive, you are granted with some supernatural powers, making the killing even more fun.

The only reason I'm taking a star out of the rating, is that the game becomes very hard at times (even at low difficulty) and some enemies may become ridiculously hard to kill. I've played this one some time ago, and I don't remember much about the story either, means it is forgettable.

Still, a very good game, especially if you get it on discount!

Very good game, Love the the story but what really keeps me going back to play again is the gameplay. I first tried the Necrovision demo and it was definitely something else! So I decided yo buy this one. Be aware that this game has massive amounts blood and violence!

There are some few negative points in this game such us some voice acting (not really horrible) but like I said the gameplay is something else it outweighs everything!

If you are looking for an original fast pace zombie survival game then I definitely recommend this!

If you liked the first one, you can not miss this. The most interesting story makes this game perfect for fans of the dark fps genre, in addition there are new weapons to use, so more fun :) A great deal to buy on offer or bundled

A nice continuance of the original game, that addresses a lot of the issues present in its predecessor and fixes them, for the most part. There are still issues with the shooting mechanics and the interface, but there is much less to complain about this time around. I loved the dark feel that the game had, like the original, but there is less attention to detail this time around. What made this game better than the original was the story, which drew in my attention as well as kept me interested. A must buy for fans of the series as well as fans of dark fps games. Pick up the original too! =]

Necrovision was not a very satisfying game. The graphics were mediocre at best and the melee mechanics were quite flawed. I didn’t mind the lack of story since the object of the game was to blast German zombies, but the voice acting was just terrible (“I am defending” the zombie shouted in a stereotypical German accent). Something I liked abut the game was the enemy character design, but I did not enjoy it to the point that I wanted all zombies in the game to be identical, which sadly happened to be the case. Necrovision somewhat redeems itself halfway through the game and because of its low price tag I’d still recommend people to buy it. Just make sure you play on highest graphics-settings and drench the terrible voice acting with some blast or speed-metal, preferably Pantera.
