Relapse into Insanity

Insane 2, sequel to a well-known game, offers a number of innovations in the off-road racing genre. Besides the traditional time trial mode, the game features 9 other game modes, including the popular “Capture the flag”, “Gate hunt” and “Pathfinder”, as well as some new competitions, such as bonus hunting, territory control and helicopter pursuit. All of these modes are also available in multiplayer, with up to eight players participating simultaneously.

More than one hundred and fifty races combined into championships and cup competitions take place in Europe, America, Africa and the Antarctic. The game has an enormous variety of long distance tracks: sand and snowy deserts, high-speed roads and impassable cross-country paths, African beaches and deserted Antarctic stations.

The game features 18 vehicles of different classes, from buggies to monstrous “Bigfoots”, as well as an additional prototype class. Rating points won in the races can be used to upgrade any of the vehicles, from a selection of 15 running gear, body or engine upgrade alternatives. Each vehicle is furnished with a detailed destruction system. Reaching the end of a course without suffering any losses is an enormous challenge that only a select few are able to accomplish. The opponents, who constantly create extreme situations, aren’t the only danger: players also need to watch out for railway crossings, heavy tanker trucks and even lightning in stormy weather.

Game Features:

  • 18 vehicles from six different types: 4x4, SUV, pick-ups, trucks, extreme vehicles and prototypes.
  • 20 locations, 170 races, 4 continents (Eurasia, America, Africa and the Antarctic)
  • 10 game modes, also available in multiplayer
  • Rating and game achievements system
  • Detailed vehicle destruction and a car tuning system

Insane 2 review

Very fun and well made offroad racer.

-nice tracks

-lots of races

-good graphics

-the cars feel "realistic" when driving

Actually the only think I don't like about the game are the engine sounds. Theys are very monoton.

But over all, a good offroad game.

Steam key and download version both included.

Insane 2 review

I never heard about this game until i saw it here at GamersGate and i'm a big fan of racing games but i was very cautious about this since i had never heard of it but luckily, i found russian language demo for this game and demo convinced me that this game is actually good and reminds me a lot of Motorstorm-series on PS3. It's all about offroad racing and putting pedal to the metal! There's nice variety of tracks and game modes but the coolest thing perhaps is the interactivity on tracks. For example, on one particular track there's trucks coming towards you on highway and if you don't dodge them you end up being total wreck and on other track there's animals blocking the road so youhave to dodge them or you will stop dead on your tracks. Graphics overall are nice and quite detailed and what's most important, game runs at 60fps and doesn't require much of your PC. I play this with my wired Xbox360 controller so i highly suggest to play this with controller, keyboard is not just a very good choice.

Fantastic Racer!

Having a blast with this game. So cool to find a game in the rough that turns out to be really good. It's a cross between Nail'd & MotorStorm with wide open terrain and alternate routes/shortcuts to discover as you race. Lots of great jumps with just enough in-air pitch control to get you pointed in the right direction. Upggrade system lets you strengthen various attributes of you vehicle and change paint jobs. Beginning cars and tracks are great with tons more to unlock. If you love arcade style boost-racing, this is one of the better ones on PC. Totally worth the $29 I paid.

FYI - The game was created to utilize the 360 controller for Windows and works perfect with it. Not sure what that guy below me was plugging in. There' no option to remap your controller's buttons or adjust sensitivity, but you shouldn't need to do either. Also Insane 2 is in English and is added to your Steam library ocnce activated. Just be sure to choose "English" at the prompt after you buy it. Not certain why the game isn't available to purchase on Steam in N. America yet, but buying it here gives you the same result. Now scroll up and buy it. This one's great fun!

No joystick support

By collated posted 23rd November 2011

Okay, well the title of this review pretty much says it all. This game has no joystick support. There is no configuration for a joystick in the game, and niether analog or digital joysticks work with this game. Who would think to make a driving game with no joystick or gamepad or wheel support? So now it is hard to give an accurate rating of this game. Since it is a dumb idea to making a driving sim that can only be steered with the keyboard, I am giving this only a two star, and it was tempting to just give it a one star.

Insane reloaded

Everybody who loved Inasne has to buy Insane2.

It's great. Pure fun in Multiplayer. All the original modes (including the alltimefavoreite "Return the flag" are there. In the new version, 8 Player Multiplayer works over steam!

This game has cool graphics and excellent game play. In Split screen mode playing with your friend & computer opponents is great fun. Carrier mode is cool . There is no online multiplayer mode but this can be easily forgotten.

I play all types racing games I.e Dirt 3, NFS Shift 2, Blur etc ; so my verdict is This game is a "Must" buy. Serious fun!!!
