Fantastic game! I can spend hours just messing around, killing zombies and taking hilarious photos of my friends online!

I highly reccommend this game to anyone who has any spare time, it kills time like a redneck kills Squirrel's.

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record review

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record is my first delve into the Dead Rising series. After watching countless gameplay videos of Dead Rising 2, I took the plunge and bought Dead Rising 2: Off The Record. I am so glad that I did!

The game for me is a refreshing fun filled adventure with a good (but close to the knuckle) sense of humour. Having not played the previous games i'm looking at this with a fresh set of eyes, take that into consideration as a lot of people are saying that it feels like an expansion/DLC for Dead Rising 2.

The introduction of the sandbox mode is what influenced my purchase a great deal. Playing with no time restriction in this type of game is awesome.

There are a few downsides. This is a console port and it very much feels like one, a decent one, but a port none the less and shows. Total lack of graphics (enough to get by but us PC gamers want more!) & key binding settings. Games For Windows Live, need I say more? There are other minor issues that I won't go into as these will hopefully be fixed in patches.

Overall DR2: Off The Record is a VERY entertaining game, and well worth the money if you are like me and this is your first Dead Rising game. Co-op, when played with friends is absolutley hilarious. I don't think there is a game on the market like it.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is a great purchase for anyone who liked the previous dead rising titles and want more of the same. Compared to Dead Rising 2 it is a flat out improvement, with more features and the much requested sandbox mode (which allows you to play without the time limits). This game really is more of the same, but it is well executed and a very fun game. If you have never bought a dead rising game this is definitely the place to start (especially seen as it has a lower than normal price tag)

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record review

Dead Rising 2: OTR offered a new area (Uranus Zone), a couple of new weapons along with a few new combo weapons and improved AI (zombies and looters are more aggressive). The rest is pretty much the same as original Dead Rising 2.

The worst and most frustrated change in Dead Rising 2: OTR is guiding the survivors back to the safe house, much similar in the original Dead Rising game, that require you to pay close attention to them if you left them surround by a crowd of zombies they wouldn't last long unlike in original Dead Rising 2.

Overall, Dead Rising 2: OTR feels like it should be a DLC instead of separate game. While adding a new area and new weapons are always welcoming add-on, improved AI system may not be welcoming change to everyone, if you found the original Dead Rising 2 was too easy then you might enjoy the improved AI since it basically made the difficulty scale up a level. It is hard for me to recommend Dead Rising 2: OTR to anyone except to those hardcore Dead Rising fans who do not mind spending $40 on a nearly the same Dead Rising 2 that they had already played it.
