Cities in Motion: St Petersburg

Rating: 4.5 (53 votes cast)

The great Window to the West and Russia’s second largest city, Saint Petersburg, provides many new challenges. With the River Neva flowing in the center and the banks of the Griboyedov Canal cutting through miles of the urban landscape, St Petersburg will be a stern test for any desktop transportation mogul.

The traditional trolley buses offer a new mode of transport and give the city a unique atmosphere as they maneuver their way around the Baroque and neoclassical architecture. A new campaign consisting of three all-new scenarios highlights key points in St. Petersburg's history while presenting the player with interesting and challenging tasks.

Features:

  • New vehicle type: trolley buses
  • A campaign with three new scenarios
  • A large map of St. Petersburg with unique landmarks

Cool little expansion pack for CIM, especially at the discount price. Adds a bit of Czar'ish flavor to the game.

Beautifull city. Great addon for CIM. The trolley bus is nice.

As usual, the graphics are amazing and the publishers of CiM have made their work into art. Unfortunately, this DLC is just as bogged down by the data leaks of the main game, making it nigh on impossible to play at any solid speed.

Well, actually it's the best DLC in my opinion. The city streets gives great possibilities of drawing lines and there are also a few russian vehicles especially trolley buses. I think this addon i even better than Paris DLC, but still the most interesting is Tokyo with it's monorail. I am waiting for Cities in motion 2.

My opinion is biased due to the fact that I live in this city. While certainly you can't model a city perfectly in a computer game, there are some curious artistic or design decisions made. I am probably being nit-picky. There are some key landmarks that are curiously left out - the Strelka is missing the Rostral Columns and the Peter and Paul Fortress is simply the (wrong colored) church and a street market? But on top of that I enjoy this DLC a lot because it is my city. If not for that I would have given this 3 stars. Not that much to do, basically just another city for CIM.
