Beyond Good & Evil

I first heard of Beyond Good and Evil about 3 years ago, when it was featured in a video games magazine's Top 10 underrated PC games list. Because of that list, I had been looking to buy the game, but found it difficult to find in shops because it wasn't particularly well known. I saw it here on Gamers Gate and so had to try it for myself. I have to say that it doesn't disappoint when the age of the game is considered. The graphics are still reasonable today, and the controls are very easy to pick up, and become intuitive very quickly. There are not many better games that are available for £3.99. For fans of adventure games - Beyond Good and Evil is a must!

Euroleague Basketball Manager

I'm not a fan of basketball, but I am a fan of sports management games, and so its from this point of view that I am writing this review. One of the first things that I noticed about Euroleague Basketball Manager is the language - while most has been translated from Spanish into English, not all of it has. In most cases, the words not translated are easy to work out, as it is the names of countries/nationalities, etc. This gives the game the feeling that the English version was rushed out on a low budget. When playing a sports management game, two things are particularly important - the user interface, and also some kind of statistics to tell you exactly how each player performs. Generally, I think EBM's user interface is quite good, as it is fairly easy to move around the game screens and menus, one problem, which has been mentioned in other reviews, is when negotiating contracts, the amount offered can only be changed by 1000 Euros each time. When trying to offer a particularly large contract, that can be annoying. Finally I will write about the game's statistics, and I think in this game they are above average. It is possible to see many facts and figures about the players performance, such as their shooting ability, speed, stamina etc. One thing that could have been better would have been the ability to see previous years' stats. Overall, I think this game is good if you like European Basketball and/or sports management games, but only if you are willing to overlook the game's flaws. It might be worth waiting a few months and looking at Wolverine Studios' DDS: Pro Basketball 2, which, at the time of writing, will include both the NBA and the top European leagues.
