Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition

Can\'t Delete downloader.exe

By fdf posted 6th Aug 2013

After recently uninstalling Batman Arkham Asylum from my PC, I noticed the downloader.exe that I used to download the game from GamersGate was still sitting in my Downloads folder. But when I try to delete, it states the File is in Use, and "The action can't be completed because the file is open in System. Close the file and try again." I've tried rebooting my character, but I am still greeted with this message every time I attempt to delete the .exe

a. Move the file to the desktop and try to delete from there.

b. Close all open programs and try to delete the file. If the problem persists, restart your computer in Safe Mode and try to delete the file from there.

To restart the computer in Safe Mode, press F8 before the Windows 7 loading animation begins and select "Safe Mode" from the menu.

Btw is your problem not really GG related stuff.

In case the excelent tips of G84 do not work you could try a program called unlocker. It works basicaly like a proces kill action but it can also delete most files that are currently locked or in use by Windows without a reboot.

Do be carefull with this program as deleting or ending the wrong files could potentialy crash your system. http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/

In all cases try deleting from within Safe Mode before trying the unlocker method.
