Buying from a different store usually won't work. That's a waste. That's weird all the other sounds come through. Did you mess with the in-game audio settings? Change stereo to something else, just a guess?
I read about another guy who had sound issues ingame but not during cutscenes. Advice given to him was to try deactivating sound-blaster card and using the onboard sound of the mainboard.
Are you using headphones? A lot of modern games have problems when using those with 5.1 sound enabled. I'm suffering from that as well :/
What helps for me is: Open Windows playback options, find the speakers entry and click on configure. Set it to stereo, save and try again. Not sure if the menu entries are exactly named like that, since english isn't my native and thus Windows language.
Codecs/ codec packs installed? Some codec/codec packs might cause conflicts.
I've always held the belief that they are more harm than good and use media players such as Video Lan (VLC), GOM, Media Player Classic Home Cinema, etc. that self contain the required codecs or installed within the applications folder itself leaving the system folders clean.
Certain applications can enable/disable the codecs installed quite easily.

Look at "Types: Driver-Audio" only.
hey streetbiker, I went to sound blaster and took your advise and it is now working! Thanks for the advise.♥
