"additional compensation for this inconvenience"
So, what do you guys expect? They screwed up big time, so the compensation should also be massive. Of course, I’m talking about the Borderlands 2 4-pack fiasco. I’d settle for a single BL2 key with an insane discount, but I won’t be holding my breath. Considering how this case has been handled so far. And they're still only considering it :)
Either way, this will determine whether I’ll continue to shop here in the future

No one can refund something without your permission. If you bought a product you have consumers right. I dont accept any additional compensation. I want what i bought and due to my consumer rights, ill fight for what i pay. You should do the same. If support wont contact to me, i will put a demand as soon as possible.
Do we even know which country GG is based in (and hence which laws they're subject to)? Let's not get all "class action" or "consumer rights" on this. Again.

I imagine $5 or $10 store credit."
So basicly a compensation would be another purchase for GG? Sounds AAAAWESOOOOME.
No, i prefer something which is acceptible given the fact how they dealt with this whole situation. I am not asking for a Moon as you are trying to make me sound...
Not really sure what I feel about all this. Buying BL2 4-pack for 4.69 was a highway robbery, but I kind of also feel robbed after they took away something that was already paid. So I guess a fair compensation would help me heal.
There’s probably grounds for a lawsuit here, but not sure how that would work
@rcantora: It would've been, if they had treated their customers respectfully. But you can't simply go force-refund on your customers. I mean you can, obviously, but then you can't expect much empathy in return
I agree in that this should have been handled in a completely different fashion, but I can also imagine that this must be an overwhelming situation.
For all I know, there’s a bunch of kids running this business. And they panicked when they realized what had happened. But then they used this “opportunity” to also cancel all the Bethesda purchases as well. Wtf was that? :)
And you know what’s the first thing people ask when hearing about a game key store? “Is it reliable?” GG gave us all a clear answer to that question
Well sorry for all of you who had refunds forced on you. I got my Beth pack (except FO3 which I already had) and I got my BL2 pack.
Yeah, now I see that some people have just got their keys. Glad they did, but somehow that makes me feel even worse :)
it does not matter if the situation is overwhelming or not. Gamersgate had two option:
1. State that the price was a mistake (they did not, they just said they can't deliver the good) and I think most of us had understood and sayd: This happens, give me my money back and we are good.
2. Don't sell the game anymore until everyone who bought the pack got his keys.
Gamersgate decided to go the worst possible way. Saying that there is a technical problem and they can't deliver (this intents that the low price was set correct, so they have to deliver), just gave back the money without any conversation, took away the games (which is theft by law as they sold me the games and the owership of it changed to me after they accepted the trade).
Still no official response to current situation.
I am not asking them to write individual emails but an official statement today is appropriate given the fact that some ppl receive the keys and some don`t.
@up: From Facebook Important Notice regarding the Bethesda New Years Bundle and Borderlands 2 Four Pack: We are aware of the problems that have occurred and we are working hard to resolve these issues.
We will update you later today with more complete information; please bare with us until then. Our support team is under heavy pressure but they are doing their best to respond to all tickets as soon as possible.
I assume the "compensation" will be the same thing we got from the IGN fiasco: Nothing except the implication that it's all our own fault anyway so we should just shut up about it.
"Isn't the comforting feeling of doing what is right enough compensation? Just saying..."
@rcantora: I wasn't part of this situation so I don't have a personal stake one way or another. However I must say after being burned by GamersGate with the IGN discount, and not getting any form of apology or compensation for being denied what they promised me and then being blamed for expecting them to honor their word, that their customers shouldn't be the only ones who have to settle for the "comforting feeling of doing what is right". Why shouldn't GamersGate have to do what is right which is legally to honor their commitments and posted offers? Especially since this isn't just a 1 time thing that they have done.
Expect zero compensation. GG is very good at carefully wording responses like this to give them enough room to not do anything once the furor dies down. Note that they're only "looking into" the "possibility" of compensation, not outright promising it.
They'll beg Bethesda and the rest of the affected publishers to ask Steam to revoke the keys, all while their terrible system continues to spit out pricing errors every day, and then ignore the issue from then on.
Maybe Psyringe will pop in and ask for suggestions to pass along to the GG team which'll amount to nothing but silence again?
Through transaction fees and exchange rates, I've managed to lose $6.83 in GamersGate's cock-up. $6.83 for absolutely nothing. Thank you, GamersGate for now lying, cheating and stealing. If there is absolutely no compensation, prepare for a class action lawsuit.
Hah, people are talking lawsuits over single-digit dollar amounts? How much do you think THAT will cost? And if you win (check the ToS for the site, you won't win) how much do you think would go to users instead of to the lawyers?
