Activation key?
I keep entering it after my installation and idk it doesn't recognize it? Can't play the game i payed for!

disable your anti virus while entering it as sometimes anti virus blocks the process and do make sure that it is 100% correct as it is case sensitive.
It says:
Activation process has been terminated. Please make sure the SERIAL has been entered correctly.

The SERIAL was not found in the database. Most likely the SERIAL has been entered incorrectly.
you will only have one serial provided,either the key is an invalid one or it is not being entered 100% correctly,keys can be frustrating sometimes and sometimes a leeter or number doesnt seem obvious but obvious ones to look at are zero and O,one and L and so on.
you probably will have to enter it manually because many copy & paste are blocked by default,if you were given an invalis key or region blocked key then you will be given a new one by gamersgate so do submit a ticket to them.
I have the exact same problem. I have tried both copy paste and typing it in manually, still doesn't work. Kind of feel like money wasted.. Can you think of any other solution? I have tried searching the web without an answer
It might be a problem with the game accessing the securom server. Have you tried selecting manual activation? You should be presented with an unlock request code that you can use along with the serial to activate the game manually here: https://support.securom.com/PAunlock/
I am having the same issue..bought the game yesterday and the serial number fails on both online / manual installation. Just sent a ticket to gamersgate support to see what they can do.
the digital version of the game appears to be DRM free according to http://www.drmdatabase.net/database
perhaps there is something wrong with the codes themselves

I just realized that the kingdoms expansions run without asking for the Serial, is just the medieval2.exe the one that ask´s for it. Guess i´ll play the expansions while this gets solved.
I tried activating it manually on https://support.securom.com/PAunlock/ and it said serial invalid.
When i entered the serial during the installation there weren't any problem, so it can't be the serial that's the problem can it?
Go to the support page (http://www.gamersgate.com/supportcenter/) and click submit ticket. Follow the instructions and once you submit the ticket you will be sent an email with your support password (the systems use different login information).
It sounds like GamersGate have been supplied with a bad batch of keys that have not been added to the Securom database. That would be a problem between the publisher and securom, GamersGate cannot test the keys so they have no way of knowing. Support should be able to get the problem fixed or supply you with a new key.
Yes all you should do a ticket explaining the problem, which I don't know why persist after so much problems with keys on all the total war games.

Same problem. Key works on install but not activation. It's securoms fault for not adding them to the database. It's bad enough they exist, they could at least do their pointless job properly.
I send a ticket, and this was the reply i got "Sega forgot to activate the latest batch of serials. We have sent them a message about it and are eagerly waiting for them to reply and fix the problem." :)
Contact Sega directly and they will give you a steam key after proving you purchased the game.I had the same problem and they took care of it pretty quickly. The problem is on Sega's end not gamersgate.
i contacted SEGA 3 days ago and they havent done crap yet all they did was send me an email saying "we will look into it this may take a couple of days" DAYS!? that is just unaceptible i have waited 3 days to play this game and neither gamersgate nor SEGA have done anything to fix it
gg have been working on the problem and contacted sega about the issue,contacting sega will probably have no effect so wait until gg get back to you about it.
just contact sega, they ask you to provide your receipt and serial. and after give you a code to activate on steam :)
I have contacted sega its has been 4 days now since i sent them an email and they haven done NOTHING to help me i have provided proof of purchase and asked for the seriel key SEGA UK suppurt is really bad
Contact Sega America if you want steam key, Sega Europe (UK) just say that they know and ask for patience for few days
I've got the same problem.
I actually did the step of emailing everyone, securom, gamersgate and Sega.
Securom said:
"Your serial number does not appear to be valid on our servers. Please contact
your point of purchase regarding regarding the serial number and activation of
the application."
Sega (UK) says:
"After sorting out some things and discussions with GamersGate it looks that the problem can be found at GamersGate. I am unfortunately not in a position to assist you further. I would kindly recommend you to contact GamersGate support (support@gamersgate.com) with the issue."
Gamersgate replied with:
"I'm really sorry to see that you experience these issues. We are investigating the case. We try to do all that is possible to fix issues, so I would ask you to wait a bit while we see how it can be fixed. Due to the massive summer sale, it may take a while, we are doing our best make everything work. Please excuse us for the inconvenience this has brought you."
I copied the Sega request and sent a new one to Sega America to see if things improve.
I got tired of waiting a while ago though and just cracked the game. The Holy Land needs crusading after all. Once they sort out the key business, I'll be glad to activate it properly. I'm amazed it's taken so long though, you'd think it would be a pretty quick fix?
cracking it is 1) illegal and 2) makes your copy invalid so you either need to uninstall and reverse what you have done or wait for gg to resolve it,gg could now decide you are a pirate so wouldnt support someone that has changed their media so you do have to think about what you have done and said,i never condone piracy in any form.

Like I said and did, it's all reversed and fixed. Activated and legal. The Holy Land is safe from heretics once more. ;)
@Swip2 - glad all is working now,gg are always working behind the scenes to resolve issue's,patience reaps it's own rewards
