American Conquest Divided Nation

How come the complete set of American Conquest and Cossacks games doesn't include American Conquest Divided Nation? A while ago i bought the game from Amazon but it said the disk had a virus and i don't see much point trying to buy a different copy online because they're so much money and i may have the same problem so why isn't the game available for download i have tried other digital distributors too but none i have found include the game.

I am sure your retail disc is fine, some Anti-virus programs will throw up whats called a false positive, where a file is similar to a virus but isn't really. Thats heuristics for you >.<

Just go into your AV options and set the file that supposedly had a virus to be excluded from the scanner. And it should be fine.

As for Divided Nations, I don't know why, it seems to have fallen from the face of the Earth, I remember it had problems and had patch after patch. Perhaps they just canned it?

More than likely there is an issue with getting distribution rights for the game; the official "website" is just a shell with no working links and the publisher's (cdv) site redirects you to that very same site. Since the publisher for the older games appears to be GSC (the actual developer), I'm guessing that when they used cdv Software Entertainment USA for AC: Divided Nation, they (GSC) gave up the right to distribute the game on their own.

Thats very possible, but Amazon seems to be able to stock the Anthology which contains that standalone expansion. Very strange :P

Its like Piranha Bytes vs JoWooD all over again :P
