DoA’s innovative new game concepts include light RTS elements, taking the popular genre to the next level. Players must oversee unit production and upgrades while assembling the most effective army from one of three playable races, each with unique locations, towers, and units. However, without magic, a fantasy game is little more than a toothless lion (or dragon, rather), so a wide range of spells will be available for players to decimate their enemies and protect their forces.

About the Game

Gratuitous Tank Battles is a unique hybrid of Tower-Defense, Strategy, management and conventional RTS. The game is set in an alternate-history never-ending world war one, with the battle of the somme fought by laser guns and Mechs (and tanks!) Played from a top-down 2D perspective, the game takes the traditional tower-defense design and drags it into the modern age, combining a single player campaign with custom map editing, online challenges and customisable units. At the start of the game the player will choose their own prospecting rig, an all-purpose construction, combat, and mining vehicle that will be used throughout the game. Unlike many games in this genre, Armada 2526 focuses on providing a game that can be finished in a reasonable time, and emphasizes battle and strategy over economic micro-management.
