Thief Collection review

By Blcak posted 31st October 2012

Thief is one of the greatest stealth games of all time. It combined tense stealth with vast level exploration and satisfying loot hunting to create a unique experience that defined a genre. Thief is an excellent game bogged down by a few questionable action sections. Thief II did all of that but removed all of the bothersome flaws from the first game's formula. It was the perfect sequel, taking all of the good (stealth, loot, exploring, and evading guards) and leaving all of the bad (confusing level design, non-stealth levels, and heavy supernatural themes). These games also manage to tell a very interesting story of authority corrupting society and evil forces lurking under it all. This bundle is a great experience that any fan of stealth should get. Deadly Shadows is ok too.

One of the best stealth series of all time

By Ketsukie posted 6th August 2012

The Thief series is considered one of the best stealth series of all time. Thief 1 was a revolutionary title for it's time. The focus on stealth gameplay, the use of sound, and the ability to choose a stealth or action oriented approach was something that hadn't really been done before. Thief 2 stuck with the core gameplay of the first while adding new features and improving upon existing features. Thief: Deadly Shadows was developed by Ion Storm and for Xbox/Windows simultaneously. It sort of departs from the first two but is still an awesome game. They may not have aged as well as some other games but these are definitely classics that deserve a playthrough if you haven't played them before
