Maxis, makers of The Sims, present the next big bang - SPORE. Create your unique
creature and guide it on an epic journey through a universe of your own creations. Play
any way you choose in the five evolutionary phases of Spore: Cell, Creature, Tribe,
Civilization, and Space. Each unique phase presents different challenges and goals. You
may choose to start in Cell and nurture one species from its humble aquatic origins to its
evolution as a sentient species. Or decide to start building tribes or civilizations on
multiple planets. How you play and what you do with your universe is entirely up to you.

Spore gives you a variety of powerful yet easy-to-use creation tools so you can create
every aspect of your universe: creatures, vehicles, buildings, and even starships. While
Spore is a single-player game, your creations and other players’ creations are
automatically shared between your galaxy and theirs, providing a limitless number of
worlds to explore and play. You can also visit the Spore website and look at all the cool
things your friends and people all around the world are making—then pull them into and
make them a part of your own world!

Spore review

This game is a decent family game. The graphics are cartoonish, and the game play is simplistic but it's not without it's charm. My main criticism is it feels repetitive, and lacks depth. If you are into creating and modifying your own creatures you'll probably really like this game, but if you are looking for something strategic you'll be dissapointed. Most of the game is just spent eating creatures, or socializing with them in order to gain parts to modify your creature to make it stronger. Worth a try if you can get it for a decent price.

This game was certainly interesting, however I grew bored of it in just a couple of days. To be fair it's entirely possible I did not advance far enough to get to anything more interesting...but after constantly evolving only to face the same generic kill or befriend everything then move on process...I just couldn't keep going.

Spore is a very interesting experience, combining 4 different game types in one package. The customization features are really great, allowing you to create just about anything from animals to houses to space stations.

Although each of the gametypes (creature, tribal, civilization, space) are each fun, they are cut short as your creature evolves rather quickly.

There is a lot of replay value in this, if you have the time to play it again, for it is great time-suck.
