Wow, this is the complete pack of all the Painkiller games (or rather expansions, but the lines are pretty blurry). It's a given to buy this and I'm looking forward to the release of the new Painkiller: Hell and Damnation. Let's just hope they've managed to maintain the first person bullet hell that is Painkiller. A devestatingly wonderful and genial game! BUY IT!
A classic action game, by those who know what they are doing, in Nordic Games. An even better deal when purchased in the Painkiller Complete Pack here on GamersGate!
While a lot of people say games in this series gradually decreased in quality, we can't argue that Painkiller has a certain charm to it: what did it for me was the enemies. I just loved the design, each enemy you'll encounter will make you think "what is that?" before you kill it and move on to the next.
Over the instalments, the gameplay hasn't changed: run, kill everything that isn't you, get into another room and repeat. However, Painkiller is probably the best series when it comes to those shooters and if you were hesitating, this pack is great. You get every Painkiller to date and finally you'll be able to say "I finished all of them" to your friends. I know I did.
Gothic Story, Frantic Gameplay. Painkiller is a first-person horror shooter, designed to satisfy a gamer’s hunger for intense, fast-paced action. It’s an adrenaline addict’s nightmare, where hellish monsters swarm in seemingly endless mobs. Graphically, Painkiller is unmatched. The proprietary PAIN Engine puts out an unbelievably high polygon count, while adding increased texture quality and the latest lighting and shadowing techniques, including soft shadows, DOT3 bump mapping, water reflections, glass simulation, volumetric light and fog, and more. Plug in the Havok 2.0 physics engine, and you get a realistic environment in a totally fantastical setting.
A series going downhill. The first game is a classic. The second game is good but with flaws. The third and forth ones are mildly speaking not too good. This package can be a good pick up when on sales, otherwise you can only just go for the Black Edition and possibly Overdose.
