Family Farm review

Cute little farming RPG, good for a couple of evenings. You buid up your family member's skills in various areas of the farm and try to accomplish goals assigned to you on an annual basis. The game is pretty easy, don't expect to have to do much thinking, even on the "hard" stories. If you want more of a challenge, try to do the stories without any outside help, just family members.

Family Farm review

Family Farm is a fun farming sim with RPG elements.

You control a family of farmers as they plow, harvest and care for livestock throughout several seasons.

There is some strategy involved to make sure that family members skilled in livestock take care of the animals and experienced tillers work the soil.

The game is presented as a series of scenario's that gradually present more options and allow to take care of a family for longer periods and achieve more difficult goals.

Several accomplishments in the game all add to your level which unlocks new embellishments (mailboxes, flowers,...), animals and lunch options. All these allow you to make more money or get bigger morale bonuses for your farmers.

This is not a thrilling action game that will have you poised on your chair. Instead the steady pace, relaxing environments and slowly watching an arid patch of land getting turned into a buzzing farm reminded me of the good old Settlers II times.

So if you're into Settlers or the Harvest Moon series, this is definitely your cup of tea.
