Creeper World review

As the other reviews here say - excellent strategy game.

However, if you get version on sale here, you should first go to http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/patches.php and patch the game up to version 0572. This lets you play user made maps, as well as the new random map generator which uses dates as seeds. You can also download the map editor here: http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/mapeditor.php, so you can create your own maps and share them with other players.

This adds extreme replayability to an already very good game.

Another tower defence game, but a little unusual of its kind. It has some unique ideas which makes it very much worth buying. The enemy does not come in waves nor in multiple entities. Instead a huge pool of liquid tries to overrun and destroy us. The goal is to keep it away for enough time to prepare our base for leaving the planet. The story is not spectacular although interesting enough for this kind of game.

You can also try a free demo at Kongregate and Armor Games (Creeper World Training Sim).

Don't hesitate to buy it if you like tower defence!

This is one of the most entertaining strategy games I have ever played. It didn't expect much from it beyond a few hours enjoyment, but I got way more than I paid for in return. The story mode is fun with a good and epic plot, and the conquest and special ops modes provide a lot of extra fun levels. Creeper World keeps me coming back with its indie charm. Nice clean and crisp abstract graphics, good sound and music, intuitive controls and a good interface; there is everything to like about this title.

Plus, it's DRM free and the developer has provided a lot of post-release support. The latest patch adds the ability to play custom maps, and adds a new game mode called Chronom with "historical" maps. The original content is more than enough for anyone to get their $10 worth, but the new additions make it an even better product and value. The game isn't so deep you will spend hundreds of hours on it, but can easily consume 20 or 30. This game sets a high standard for games of all kind, indie or not. Knuckle Cracker please make more games and take my money!

Pros: Fun game, plenty of hours to keep you entertained...once you get through all the Story, Conquest & Special Ops Levels...you get an option to DOUBLE the "creep" for replayability!

Cons: Wish you could disable music permanently, Not worth $10...get it when it is on sale/discount offer, needs a "randomize" or level maker.

Overall: I gave it 5 Stars. The pros outweigh the cons. Would like to see a sequel!

This is a great tower defence game to kill some time with. The story line is also quite intriguing.

The graphics aren't exactly flashy, but they get the job done. The only critique I have is that overall the game is a little bit too easy. For too many levels the question is how quickly you will be able to fight back the creep rather than whether you will be able to finish the level. I especially regretted that the little message prior to each level aimed at developing the story line also contains too much information regarding the best way to play the level. In my opinion people should find that out with their face or quick thinking more often than not, perhaps with an added option of asking for hints instead of having them thrown at your face.

In any case I am very much looking forwared to a sequel.

I bought this game on recommendation from a friend (despite the skepticism) and boy was i surprised. Creeper World is a whole lot of fun and definitely recommended for fans of the tower defense genre. The whole idea of the power network along with the supply and depletion idea makes the game a very fluid experience. Overall, this game is highly recommended.

Creeper World is an enjoyable defense game. It's fairly simply mechanics blend to form an interesting challenge.

The games is easy to pick up with plenty of levels that can be completed with a variety of strategies. The low tech graphics in no way hinder the gameplay, and I would recommend this game.

I had fun and feel I got really good value for money.

an excellent twist to the tower defense genre. The sound and music is good and the gameplay is great. this game also has a massive number of levels both online and through the mode that generates maps from any given date.

A great game at a very reasonable price

Creeper world is one of those games that doesn't need brilliant graphics as its game play is both superb and addictive.

In this defence game there's no waves of enemy's coming at you single file oh no the enemy is faceless, formless and never stops, it spreads out in a huge wave of destruction constantly coming for you.

this is a tower defence in name only as the game takes on a unique approach to the genre.

The game centres around not upgrading your towers but in its unique energy network system,

watching the little balls of energy flowing over your network to power your defences while the rhythmic music plays in time to the gentle tap tap of your blasters is so relaxing that you almost forget that its a battle for survival because that's what this game is, survival

there is no wining there just the chance of escape.

its worth mentioning that for a simple game sometimes you can nearly convince yourself that the creeper is alive probing your defences its an eerie feeling that adds great depth to such a simple looking game.

If your looking for a fun game to occupy your free time and you like conventional tower defence but want something a little different then this is for you its only downside is that its got no save feature in mid mission.
