Crysis - Maximum Edition review

Crysis is a very good, solid FPS. I give this game only 4 stars as opposed to 5 because it does not really bring anything new or unique to the table for FPS games. This game is makes superb use of the FPS genre.

Crysis - Maximum Edition

This is a Great Futuristic first-person shooter. Although it can have some high requirements compared to other games, this is worth it.

PROS:

1. Absolutely wonderful graphics.

2. Great game play, with many guns, tactics, enemies, and huge maps.

3. Great re-playability using the open sandbox type maps and missions (to an extent).

4. Nice Music.

5. The physics in this game are revolutionary.

6. The multiplayer, although simple (just 2 modes, team vs team and free for all), is fun

7. The story is really unique, with many surprises.

8. All three games (Crysis, Crysis Wars, and Crysis Warhead) bundled in one collection.

9. Crysis Wars is nice new multiplayer mode.

10. Crysis Warhead is a nice continuation of the story in Crysis, with continuing surprises, discoveries, and action.

CONS:

1. Higher system requirements for games released at the same time (although there are games with much higher system requirements, such as Metro 2033).

2. Long installation, not sure why the game took 3 hours to install, other games usually take 30 min to 40 min of the same size.

3. Securom DRM?

4. Long learning curve compared to other fps games. Don't expect to just pull out your gun and kill people easily in this game if you like to play Rambo-style, especially on the hardest mode, delta. You need to use tactics, your wits, and the environment to your advantage, both in single player and multiplayer if you want to do well.

5. Big download (about 18 GB total, 6 GB for each game). Make sure you have a decent internet connection, speed, and bandwidth.

OTHER THOUGHTS:

This is just basically Crysis bundled with Crysis Wars and Crysis Warhead. Buy this, it is a good game collection! This is the best futuristic fps game I played to date which I played in my opinion. Although it is bundled with Securom, that is not a major problem, don't let that prevent you from having this game.

Personally, this game speaks for itself. You really can't say anything until it's played. Lol, well... if your computer can handle it. Some of the most advanced computers today still can't run this game at full quality. It's crazy they built this game at it's time. But i can definitely say this is one of the best games i've ever played. Super powers, a great FPS, open world content, & a great story. What's not to like?

Crysis - Maximum Edition review

This game is an awesome deal! Bundling two of the greatest looking FPS's of all time, including Warhead's addictive Crysis Wars, the deal of $20 (today) was incredible. Aside from that, both games are among the prettiest graphics of all time. Crysis truly set a benchmark that warhead only improved on. Do not that you need a heck of a rig to run the original on high, mine can barely pull it, even with a GTX 260.

Story wise- the game's story is nothing incredible, but few FPS's are. It's interesting enough, and pits you against north korea( initially) and (within the first 2 missions) aliens for the rest of the game. The weapons are fun and the suit adds a new dynamic to the game. In addition, the gameplay is fresh and can be played additional times due to the non-linearity of the game. Stealth? sure! Guns blazing? absolutely! whatever your play style, Crysis fits. The multiplayer is decent too! overall, totally worth buying!
