Rating: 4.7 (35 votes cast)

Astroslugs is a colorful and soothing puzzle game for PC and Mac that is extremely easy to pick up. It features interesting puzzles which require you to fit a number of different shapes upon a board. You fill all available spaces with all the available shapes to solve each one. We have focused on simplifying the role of placing pieces – there is no moving pieces into place and clicking buttons to rotate and flip. Instead, you use your mouse to draw them into place, while drawing over an already present shape will remove it. It’s a very simple mechanic which anyone can easily understand. The story of the game revolves around the evil but slightly incompetent Astroslugs who strife to leave their home planet and conquer the universe. Their only problem: They have no source of energy to jumpstart their space craft. Now they turn to you to fix this problem and get them on their way to the stars.

  • 44 Levels of brain-teasing puzzle fun
  • Revolutionary simply input scheme; one mouse button only
  • Six environmental zones with their own graphics and music style
  • Eleven different building blocks in seven colors
  • Experience the story of the Astroslugs

Astroslugs review

Astroslugs is a fun little puzzle game. It has a certain sense of humour that I personally enjoy, the game is easy to navigate and it looks well appearance-wise. Although there isn't many options to customise things to your own liking in the game, there isn't much need for it. It's simple enough, pretty much a clicking game, but still very fun. Offers lots of food for the mind with its almost!tetris-based fittings and is just a joy to put away/pick up every now and then to kill some time. The only real problem I have with it is that the mouse doesn't move around as quickly/precisely as I'd want it to and since there isn't an option to modify this in any way in the game, I'm stuck with it. Nothing too unbearable, though, and Astroslugs is truly a game I'm not ashamed to recommend.

This game is not going to change the world, but it sure will alleviate some of my boredom! It is slow paced, but in a good way, almost like assembling a good puzzle. You have an objective of using shapes on each level and while some of them may have you scratching your head, in general, they are not too difficult to play. Good game for a quick hit, and a great game when on sale. Recommended!
