World War II: General Commander review

By danielprates posted 13th Oct 2010

Excellent game, a precise and realistic depiction of large-scale tactical engagement - the scope is somewhat less wide than an strategic game (HoI for example), but it is wider that a merely tactical game since you have many organizational concerns, such as weather and its affect on air units and etc. Lets say it is an operational-level game, focusing on one single operation.

This is a must-have for armchair generals. The only thing I miss is diversity of operations. This game covers only operation 'wacht am rhein' and it would not be difficult to create some other maps and depict other famous operations. Maybe add-ons or sequels could be on their way, perhaps...?

A game with potential and good, personal support from the development studio. I did like the general approach of the title and the scale of its maps.
