Wanderlust: Rebirth review

Wanderlust: Rebirth is a neat little open world action RPG. It has a adorable Zelda(SNES) like graphics style. Its main appeal is the multiplayer, it's really fun if you can get a couple friends together and get a game going. Single player is sort of weak, the story feels a little like an afterthought and just running around in the world get tiring after a while, but it's nice to try out the different classes.

Fun game and really old-school rpg style!

Wanderlust let me back to the time of 80',90' Nintendo classic, the pixel grahhic is so cute

& I just like this. If you love some old nitendo games like Zelda, I think you can't miss wanderlust, more exciting is the game support coop and multi-play, that means more fun especially with your friends together. I give wanderlust 5 stars absolutely。

Wanderlust is a very interesting experience. It reminds me of Zelda Four Swords, with unique co-op and a variety of playstyles. I think the graphics are pretty, since I'm a sucker for pixelart. Overall, this game is worth the price and allows a nice experience for anyone a fan of co-op. I recommend getting friends to buy it too, because the online isn't exactly bustling with people.

Awesome and fun game! I haven't played it in multiplayer, but I played singleplayer and had a blast. :) The devs are pretty nice too if you're looking to get a desura key as well! Just have to email them with the key that you get from gamersgate and explain to them the situation.

A fun 4 player zelda-like RPG. It gets boring relatively fast due to the simplistic combat and leveling system and the story is lacking, but it's decent for it's price. There also is not many games that fit this niche.

A game you should play with your friends and not alone.

The way of earning the skill points might be a bit weird, but it does work.

The better you play, the better score, the more skill points. (If I recall correctly)

It's just a pitty, there are only few classes, which are rather basic.

Other than that, a fine game to play with friends.

A small and old school co-op online RPG that you can choose from 4 different classes to play as. Each of the classes have unique skills that you can unlocked through the game. Gameplay wise it is similar to the old Zelda games back in the Game Boy handheld system. The game itself is very linear, the plots is unappealing, and most of the time you will end up skipping most of the dialogues. This is definitely another one of those games that will be enhanced by playing with your friends and make sure to have a reliable internet connection since this game must be play online even if it is single player campaign.

This game is terrible. It has an archaic menu interface that was better left in the early 90s, giving it questionable control functions. The combat (which is the majority of the game) is not very exciting because of how the skills are handled. It lets someone assign 2 skills at neutral stance, then another 2 if someone holds down a button. This would be interesting if one had to stance switch to use the other skills, but this is not the case, someone can use any skill no matter what the situation off number keys or hot keys like diablo.

The games art assets look stolen straight out of Legend of Zelda and rpg maker, only there as an excuse for a low art budget and an attempt to invoke nostalgia. This game leaves a lot to be desired and if it was truly 5 years in the making, it was 5 years wasted.

This game is amazing, and an extremely good value alone. Having obtained it through the IndieFort bundle which was bundled together with a handful of amazing games, I'm just in awe of how much was available at such a great price. The game plays like no other game that I've experienced, and has a lot of the components that make other games in the genre great, along with some very enjoyable mechanics. I definitely recommend picking the game up if you haven't already.

It's a simple looking game, but it offers a lot of fun and great to play with friends. The devs are still adding new features to this completed game quite often, and there may be more to come in the future. This is definitely an entertaining title to keep your eye on if you haven't bought it already.

I can't really understand all the great reviews this game has got. In fact I was tempted to give it two stars, but for the co-op mode and the fact that this is an Indie game where there is tons of material and a tons of work stuck in it.

I like roleplaying games and have nothing against game-maker games, but from the story, writing and presentation, I've seen a lot better. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing really bad about it and it can be some fun if you've got time to kill, but there are plenty of better indie role playing games out there.

Quite an interest game, despite the somewhat irritating online-only system.

An amazing little co-op game that is even better when played with other people, if you can manage to find someone to play with.

Wanderlust: Rebirth review

Wanderlust: Rebirth is a cute little game made by a couple of developers over the course of a few years, this well polished game has plenty to do to keep you occupied for many hours with a lot of scope for replayability. This game allows you to play through the storyline either in a single player mode, accompanied by NPC controlled characters, or online with friends or strangers in order to complete your goal.

For those familiar with early Japanese RPGs they will recognise much of the graphical style of the game but the game itself plays much differently. Focusing on a more western action orientated RPG this game has fairly fast paced action inbetween the often humourous storyline which unfurls before your eyes.

Each of the four main classes have a different playstyle from one another so there is plenty of room to craft an individual character between classes, even amongst the classes as there is a limit of how many skills you can have quickslotted at a time so some choice is often needed which drives your combat style into potentially unique routes.

Overall, if not taken too seriously, this game presents itself as enjoyable experience, one of which will keep you coming back from time to time to get just a little further than you did before.

I also have a video review over at http://youtu.be/USBqn1n2w94 for those wanting to see ingame action.

It plays alot like a classic legend of zelda game with stronger rpg elements. The main problem I've had with the game is a bug that makes it incredibly easy to get stuck in walls, which can often force a restart of a quest. This can be incredibly frustrating in multiplayer.

It is a fun game, but some things leave a sour taste in my mouth. These include the requirement of an internet connection, and the prologue opening a youtube video. I don't let these things bother me too much though, and the online adventure gameplay is great.

Great co-op RPG

By watzels posted 15th April 2012

This is a great co-op fast paced action RPG. This game requires skill, and team-work. Theres four classes to choose from each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

I bought this game as i like co-op RPGs and i couldnt be happier. I highly recommend trying the demo if it sounds like a game you would enjoy or getting your hands on the indiefort bundle before it runs out. Or just buy the game, its worth it!

Classic RPG stylings with new-school game mechanics. Each class has a unique skill set and controls and offers different gameplay. Both single player and multiple player modes offer hours of entertainment, and with equipment recipes you can spend a lot of time playing this game. If you like classic RPGs - give this a shot!

Wanderlust: Rebirth is quite an addictive little gem. Calls to mind a lot of older games but is nice and polished and ready for multiple players. The only downsides I'd say is despite there being a single player mode, the game is clearly designed around co-op so it can feel a bit weird, especially that you can't play offline SP (game reverts to a demo if you do). Also at times it can be tough to find people to play with of your skill level.

Quick review: If you like hack n slash games, Wanderlust is one to get. What I really love is how you can easily get together with your friends and journey through the story together, then do a horde-style mode. Boosting a bright and vivid graphics style reminiscent of the SNES days, Wanderlust delivers a beautiful, lush environment in addition to polished gameplay.

Wanderlust consists of 4 classes: Fighter, Elementalist, Cleric, and Alchemist.

Each class has a unique fighting style, especially with the interesting control style (takes a bit of getting used to). Each class has many skills they can get in a sort of skill tree progression, but can only carry up to 6 spells at a time. So, there is a tactical side along with the action and RPG elements in the game.

I haven't played much of the storyline yet, but it seems like it will be good.

Amazing game, bring retro gaming back to the 21st century, a nice quality HD retro graphics make the game stand out from the rest. Using the mouse in the game it effective basically it's like Realm of the Mad God, crossed with retro RPG's like Final Fantasy, Grandia, etc... I would recommend this to everyone, plus also the co-op feature is a good addition.

I bought this game as part of the IndieFort No.1 promotion/package/thingy. It is a multiplayer co-op based game that has the single player option. It is a little frantic, and getting it started (as in getting into the game) can be a little tricky, but once that is done, it is a LOT of fun to play with friends. The screenshots don't do the game play justice.

Get friends for this one.

By Tau22 posted 8th April 2012

A very enjoyable action RPG in its own right, with lots of charm in its visuals and audio, and with a co-op multiplayer campaign, this is a great thing to have if you have a few friends to play with you.

Playing solo, however, has its issues. The enemies are always numerically superior and often simply swarm you with number alone and beat you to a pulp in a corner. Having a few mates negates such a problem.

Basically you run around with a group of friends and kill things. There are four classes to choose from and combat is not too complex but is still fun. The are looks very nice and classic with out being just a blob of pixels. Overall its a good game to burn some time in.

Wanderlust is meant to be played with friends. And it delivers that. There is a campaign, but when you're done you can always hop on to the Survival mode, which will send you waves after waves of enemies.

The combat requires skill and your teammates. Basically, if you have three friends and are looking for something to play, grab Wanderlust.

Game is great. If you enjoyed games like Recettear but wish that the dungeoneering part of the game would be better, this is the game for you. The co-op is just what tops it though, a good number of classes, no gender locking, and great skills and a realy fun fully co-op storyline to play through. There are multiple difficulties and even a "survival mode". Graphics are crisp and nostalgic music is pleasant, game runs great on Win7 even in full screen, no stretching, everything stays HD even at high res. Support these guys because this game needs more word of mouth! It's far too much fun to let just slide into obscurity.
