Rating: 3.4 (81 votes cast)

Meet Woody Two-Legs, the least infamous pirate of Seven Seas. Things have never gone quite right for Woody. That is, until he scored big time and got his hands on huge treasure. Sailing to remote island, Woody was about to bury his treasure, just as any good pirate would do.
Unfortunately, it turned out that the original owners of the treasure, namely Mr. Jones himself and his retinue of undead pirates, had caught up with Woody. Small he might be, but Woody Two-Legs was not going to give up without a fight.
Help Woody to fight wave after wave of undead pirates, defeat deadly bosses, collect bonuses and use devastating special weapons. All legs on deck!

  • Chase the high scores on the online scoreboard and don’t settle for anything less than the Best of the Best
  • Unlock the various difficulty levels ultimately ending up in the  extremely insane Nightmare-mode
  • Check in on a regular basis to make sure no one has dethroned your score and or to make it better and harder to beat “Defeat your friends & foes on the online scoreboard”
  • Follow the story of Woody Two-Legs trough the exiting campaign mode or play your favorite level in the Level play mode
  • Fight the evil forces of Mr. Jones on several different levels of intensity
  • Face the zombies, skeletons and ghosts ships and their grim bosses and finally face off with Mr. Jones himself

Woody Two-Legs is a casual score chasing arcade shooter that offers players various degrees of unlockable difficulties, building gradually on intensity with wave after wave of attack by the retune of undead pirates and their unholy allies. Part of the addiction lies in the fact that these enemies become increasingly nasty as the player unlocks the various difficulty modes, ultimately facing up against the man himself in the ultimate boss fight in Nightmare Mode.

Woody Two-Legs: Attack of the Zombie Pirates review

By dvgilday posted 7th January 2012

I didn't find this game to even be worth its low price. I found it frustratingly difficult in an annoying rather than challenging way. This was largely a result of it being a ship-style game with the movement controlled by a combination of increasing and decreasing speed and turning left or right--perhaps someone that is more a fan of such games than I am would enjoy this, but I had a hard time getting the ship to sail like I wanted (perhaps I am simply terrible at this style of control, but the throttle control seemed somewhat suspect, as the speed seemed to more-or-less alternate between full-sail-ahead and not-moving-at-all) which made picking up the all important power-ups dropped by destroyed enemies a chore. Furthermore, whenever you run into an object you seem to "bounce" off it a great distance, possibly turning as you do (the unmarked edges of the playing area also abruptly turn your ship around in highly annoying fashion) which made steering the ship an even more unpleasant task. As with many ship-shooters the shooting came in the form of choosing to fire your cannons on one side or the other; however, while I may have been missing some accuracy based high-score mechanic, there seemed to me little reason to not just keep both guns firing at all times which made me wish they had just made it auto-fire.

While the cartoonish graphics and the silly pirate story are "charming" they didn't offer enough enjoyment for me to recommend the game to anyone other than those who love this kind of "steering boats, firing cannons" game-play done in an arcade (ie, in this case, "fast and jerky) style.

Terrible game. The time lag is so bad the ship is uncontrolable and you are more likely to crash into the island than engage an enemy. Impressively its worth less than the price. Maybee I dont have a super high end machine but for a game of this level I shouldnt need one. One more try, and then I delete from my harddrive.

I dug the overall presentation of the game, the music fits and the sound effects were competent. While the graphics won\'t exactly give your machine a workout, the water and flaming ships looked well done as did the explosions. I would\'ve liked a windowed option though, and maybe some mouse control; the keyboard works just fine, but the 360 controller I used offered a more comfortable experience.

So there you have it, an enjoyable arcade shooter that\'s both easy to pick up and play, easy on the system requirements, and easy on the wallet. There\'s a demo out if this sounds like the game for you, and at $5, it\'s a bargain if you\'re looking for a simple gift. For those in the market for a more meatier game in the vein of what Woody Two-Legs offers, I would suggest checking out the recent Sid Meier\'s Pirates title.

This game does exactly what it says on the tin. It's simple, pure, FUN. Just like PC games of old - except with some very smooth and eye pleasing graphics to compliment your high-end machine. You shoot some pirate ships, you sail over power-ups, rinse and repeat. For a bit of really pleasing time passing you simply cannot go wrong with this game - especially at less than a fiver. Watch the video - it tells you everything you need to know. Despite being 'just' a little indie game it still detected an update for itself from the start menu ! This was a little fiddly for me to actually sort out - until I discovered that all I really had to do was say "Yes" to deleting the temporary files after installing the main game - it then updated itself with no hitch.

You want a little fun for a little price ? Try it out.
