Turtix (Mac) review

Good fun, nice graphics. Game is very easy for an experienced gamer. Can be a bit repetitive too. There are exactly a billion gems to collect on every level, and it takes a massive number of them before they finally give you a life. Each level requires you to save turtles by stunning the enemy guarding their cage by jumping on them, then kicking that stunned enemy to get rid of them, then jumping on the cage to break it open. Doing this 5 times every level begins to feel very repetitive, although later you a spell to get rid of enemies faster. Apart from that it is a standard platform game. Spikes, vanishing platforms, hidden rooms (many of which are so obvious you wouldn't know they are meant to be hidden until the game tells you), double jumps, deadly water, etc. After finishing the main goal of the game by beating the final boss, there is still an extra bonus stage, then the screen goes black with music still playing. Do they forget the ending sequence, or were they planning more levels? Anyway, not a bad game for the price.
