Trainz Simulator 2010: Engineers Edition review

By pierrot1972 posted 28th July 2011

Trainz Simulator 2010 is a great game.

* Simple operation

* Beautiful

* Free Mods have been created by many users

The only unfortunate thing is, they have little place in the Japanese railways.

Of course, if you love the feeling Trainz, but not a big deal problem.

Trainz Simulator 2010: Engineers Edition review

By jamesslayton posted 24th August 2010

Trainz 2010 updates seem to be more in favor of the designer builder versus the driver/rider. I don't build or design routes, but rather drive and ride the trains. From that perspective, I didn't see any noticeable changes or improvements over the 2009. I keep wondering why I bought 2010 version when 2009 is just as good (driver mode). The 2010 version includes more and better routes than 2009 does, but some of those are demos. I would have been better off just buying and downloading additional tracks. The 2010 version isn't worse than 2009, but rather the improvements are not noticeable. I guess if you are going to use Trainz 2010 for designing and building purposes, it may be worth upgrading from 2009 (and definitely from 2006). But, if you just want to drive and ride the trains, I do not recommend upgrading to 2010. I give Trainz 2010 a perfect rating of five stars. The only gripe is that the improvements are not noticeable to me. For the record, 2010 does work fine on my updated version of Windows 7.
