Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Edition review

By Mileunder posted 21st December 2012

This Splinter cell is unlike other splinter cell games. I say that because this game focuses much less on stealth and much more on shooting. In previous splinter cell games you could sneak throughout a level undetected and win. Where as in this game it forces you to get into a shoot out. The AI has also taken a step back from previous games. If your looking for a stealthy, fun game look else where. If you want a kinda stealthy shooter then you could do worse.

I was pleasantly surprised by this game, I had read some other reviews and a lot of gamers were upset that it wasn't as much about stealth as it used to be. Since I hadn't kept up with the franchise and just picked up this game it didn't bother me one bit. You still cant just go running out in the open but stick to the shadows.

If you are on the fence about purchasing it, you can probably get it for cheap on sale one day so pick it up when you feel comfortable.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Edition review

Splinter Cell: Conviction is a surprisingly competent action game in the Splinter Cell series. While the gameplay is a departure from the traditional stealth action perfected in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, it suits the narrative. Conviction evokes films such as Bourne Identity. Betrayed by Third Echelon, Sam Fisher is out for vengeance. As the game progresses, he will unravel the typical Tom Clancy conspiracy and discover certain truths about the people he thought he knew. While the single player campaign is not particularly long, it is enjoyable (in part due to an outstanding art direction). The appeal of Splinter Cell: Conviction is the addition of a different story-driven co-op campaign and a single player or co-op skirmish mode. There is a lot of content to enjoy in Splinter Cell: Conviction. If you are a Splinter Cell fan and are dismayed by the emphasis on action over stealth, I still recommend to try out Conviction: you will be surprised. Finally, the much-maligned 'always on' Ubisoft DRM the game launched with is now gone. The game authenticates with Ubi servers at launch but an active connection is no longer necessary during gameplay.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Edition review

By Vishanti posted 28th April 2010

Focusing not so much on the gadgets and stealth, this game is a fast paced, brutal, action packed goodiebag. It still has the stealth element, of course, but it focuses more on the tactical element, knowing which light to shoot, which bad guy to take out, and how and when he should be taken out.

You can upgrade your weapons at weapons stashes, which is a cool feature, adding more damage, range, accuracy, execution marks etc.

It's cool, fast paced, brutal. Sam Fisher is out for vengeance, and you can feel it in how the game is played.
