    FEATURES

The producers of Syberia I and Syberia II are proud to present Still Life. Victoria McPherson, is a brilliant young FBI agent who's investigating a serial murder case. The body count is now at five and with the lack of real leads and a moutain of circumstantial evidence, Victoria is beginning to show signs of fatigue and stress. She decides to take a break and go rest at her father's home in suburban Chicago; after all, it is close to the Christmas holidays. However, Victoria does not find rest. Instead, she finds one of her grandfather's old case files and begins to read. Oddly enough, Victoria's present case resembles the one from the past, right down to the killer's MO...

    • Enthralling storyline in amazingly detailled environments!
    • Riche and intriguing characters.
    • Breathtaking cinematics.
    • An investigation on the very same places where horrible cimes of serial killer occur.

I just finished the game and I loved it! I read some negative reviews and was kind of skeptical (especially about the gingerbread puzzle), but the game exceeded my expectations. I actually didn't think the gingerbread puzzle was bad. It made sense to me and I actually got it right it on the first try. I loved how it was so intuitive, like it understood what you were trying to do and not waiting for you to point at some tiny spot on the screen in order to use an object. It looks beautiful and it's really well-made. The story line is interesting and the voice acting is pretty nice. I can't even think of any negative things to say. Well, ok, the ending did feel rushed and incomplete, but I was ready for it after reading the reviews, so I wasn't disappointed. Overall a very nice game with great controls, interface, imagery, and puzzles (although I wish it was a little more challenging). Just overall great game. I wish there were more like it.

Pros: Interesting story, including 1920's Prague and Modern NYC, a good villain, and great art and atmosphere. Cons: Archaic interface that seems like it belongs in a game from 1995, ridiculously difficult puzzles that should have no bearing on the story (who knew making ginger bread cookies could be so difficult?) I ended up following walkthroughs for most of them. Conclusion: Good deal if you like puzzle games and get the version that's bundled with another game. 3/5.

One of the most underrated adventure games ever released. Extremely good story, acting and producing. Can't wait for Still Life 2 to hit the shelves on April 14th 2009!
