Super Street Fighter® IV Arcade Edition review

SSFIV is pretty much THE fighting game to have. Capcom has been paying a lot of attention to it and UMVC3, but SF has always been the most serious and competitive one when it comes to balancing. If you have an arcade stick then this should be more than a deal to you. If you dont, a keyboard is way better than a pad to play it, so you should still get it!

Excelent game. The gameplay is top-notch, 2D fighting game at its best! Basically this is a competitive figting game with a great roster balance, the game itself is hard to master which means it has a very high learning curve which makes it perfect for competition however, the game is very accessible for casual players so anyone can pick it up and play, graphics are gorgeous with a cartoony style that works perfectly well, the net-code works great on PC with almost zero lag.

A good improvement from the common version of Street Fighter® IV. This game adds some new characters and scenarios. I recomend a controller for paying this, because it's not easy playing on a keyboard. The game has local and online multiplayer, what's cool. The graphics are good, a interesting cell-shaded style. It has a lot of options to configure it, so it can run on a good or poor PC. It's one of the best fighting games for Windows out there.

Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition is a extreamly fun fighting game, tho it does have its up and downs i personally enoyi it alot, while the game is pretty difficult to learn for a person who is not familliar with fighting games, but once you get the hang of it, you will love it.

What can I say? I love fighting games and SSIV AE is one of the best ones out there. The combat is solid, the PC options are fantastic (although if you go up against an opponent with maxed out settings, prepare for slow matches). My only gripe with this game is that they allow players to compete online with sub par FPS, but that only happens once in a while. If you love fighters, SSFIV AE is a must buy.

Playing this one pc is great the only difficulty is finding the right controller/joystick for you. For me this meant getting a joystick and am now going through the ropes of learning how to use it consistently.

The game itself is exactly what you'd expect.

The last part of Street Fighter 4 series brings the most balanced fighting game of all times!!

With a lot of games modes to play for all types of players, from Arcade Mode to more casual gaming, Challenge Mode and Training Mode where you can practice combos and setups to use with your friends on 2vs2 mode or Online Play where you can play, improve your skill and met people from all over the world!.

Featuring the 39 characters from the old version adding 4 new characters, two from SF III: Yun and Yang, Evil Ryu from SF Alpha and the all new character: Oni.

If you are a old fan of the series or new in fighting games, this is your game.

Nice game to play.

Although I'm more of a Tekken player, I decided to buy this game because I missed a nice fighting game.

And I'm not disappointed. It is a good game, good graphics and the playability is smooth, great list of characters to choose from. No major problems yet, but I found difficult to do some moves with the D-pad of my gamepad and had to use analog stick to do them.

Online mode, it's a slaughter house. I got beaten in seconds, but still I enjoyed it. The game is sure made for fans, and any new player to the series may have a hard time at the beginning, specially in online matches.

The single player arcade mode is pretty much pointless other than to see some story cut scenes. The trials give you a good training experience with the characters by showing you some of their available combos. But the online is where the whole game is at. Characters are balanced and interesting, combos are hard but incredibly satisfying to pull off and the whole experience is fast paced and great fun. Buy this if you are into online gaming.

The best version of street fighter 4. it is more of a technical fighting game that street fighter x tekken but is the same engine. that also means it looks GREAT in 3D! you have got to love when games are made from the ground up to support 3D! all your old faves are here and honestly the moves etc. havent changed much they just look ALOT better.

now if only they would start porting ALL fighting games to PC.

Super Street Fighter® IV Arcade Edition review

The SF4 experience was great, but it lacked a decent character roster. Also, the Challenges mode did not explain the game well, and most of the combos were extremely picky. On the bright side, the game is beautifully animated, and the cutscenes, while mostly static images, are sometimes greatly entertaining.

Super Street Fighter 4 adds more characters to the roster, but I think that is it.

Arcade Edition adds a few more characters than the normal Super Street Fighter 4, and it has barrel-breaking meta-games and other distractions. Unless you are a Street Fighter fan, there is very little reason to own this game. That said, if you are a fan, you should enjoy this game at least a little. Replay value is somewhat high due to the challenging fights and the online components, but if you are not a hardcore fighter, Street Fighter 4 may scare you away.

Not for the thinking gamer

By jentner1 posted 14th December 2011

This game is so-so. The balance between certain characters is grossly unfair. Some characters have unblockable, unavoidable, super moves, while others telegraph their moves so badly they are nearly useless. The online matches pit you against some of the rudest people on earth, each representing their own country with enough pride to make you never want to leave home again. Let's face it, it's a stupid, mindless game for wanna be thugs.

But on the other hand, if you enjoy throwing yourself into uncomfortable situations, having your heart rate double out of frustration, if you crave heat from having your blood boil in an uncontrollable rage, then this is the best game on the market.

Simply one of the best fighting game out there. Its like Street Fighter 2 , but with better graphics. They nailed everything except the online matchmaking / online play which i feel should have been handled a bit better. Other than this 5/5.

Super Street Fighter® IV Arcade Edition review

At first I was in doubt to get SSFIVAE for PC since there are some rumors that there are some problems with the port such as

- crash when assigning controller

- some controller doesn't work

- resolution problems

But after getting more info in the forum (steam&neogaf) it seems that the problem only affect several motherboard/controller combination. Capcom also mentioned that they are going to patch the game to address the issue. So I decided to get this game.

And I'm glad I did. With 1080p + 4xMSAA + 8xFiltering + VSync, this game is gorgeous. Plus the online is quite solid and very minimal on the lag.

Bottomline: THE definitive version of SSFIVAE
