Serious Sam 3: BFE is a glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom. Serving as a prequel to the original indie sensation, Serious Sam: The First Encounter, Serious Sam 3 takes place during the Earth’s final struggle against Mental’s invading legions of beasts and mercenaries. Set against the collapsing temples of an ancient civilization and the crumbling cities of 22nd century Egypt, Serious Sam 3 is an exhilarating fusion of classic twitch shooters and modern gameplay features.

NO COVER. ALL MAN.

FEATURES

  • Frantic Arcade-Style Action – Hold down the trigger and lay waste to a never-ending onslaught of attackers or face being overrun by Mental’s savage beasts. No cover systems, no camping – it’s just you against them. All of them.

  • Brutal Melee Attacks – When the going get’s tough, the tough take matters into their own hands! Rip out the eye of a closing Gnaar, twist off the face of the hideous Scrapjack or snap the neck of an Arachnoid Hatchling for an instant kill.
  • Co-Op Chaos – Go to war against Mental’s horde with up to 16 players online and annihilate everything that moves across 12 levels of mayhem. Try to survive wave after wave of enemies in the relentless Survival mode or go on a monstrous safari in Beast Hunt mode!

Serious Sam 3: BFE review

I only rate it with 3 stars because, it was fun but a little bit to easy and not exciting enough. The graphics are ok, not awesome but i liked the enemies and the gameplay itself. Really creative shooter but Serious Sam is getting a bit more serious. :) Would buy it again

A really good game with classic FPS type shooting, health system and enemies.

Graphic wise It's beautiful game kinda modern shooters graphic style.

Game it self is some times a bit lacking of level design.

I'm not much for first-person shooters, but this was pretty fun. Fairly Duke Nukem-esque in the characcters and enemies. It seems to go on sale a lot, so if you can snag it under $10, might as well do it.

Classic Shooter Mayhem

The game starts out really slow, and downright bad. The first 4 levels or so are far more cramped and slower than what you would expect from a Sam game, and I have to admit that I was worried. Luckily, the game opens up after that and the ridiculous mayhem and adrenaline rush of fighting like a billion rampaging monsters all at the same time hits you full force. The game is difficult, it's frantic, and it's an absolute blast to play once it gets going.

Serious Sam 3 is a old school fps and has a great single player campaign. It has has multiplayer but the only good mode is coop. So if you like good single player campaign then it's a good title, if you just want death-match then not so much.

Serious Sam 3: BFE is not the most well optimized game in the world, I will say that. However with that being said the game is still quite fun and multiplayer is a blast, you'll kill massive mobs of enemies with your friend(s) wondering where the time went. This game is worth checking out if you've got a good computer that can compensate for it being ill-optimized.

When it comes down to Serious Sam games first thing that comes to mind is an old-school type of shooter packed with bunch of different weapons, killing everything that moves and monsters exploding in your face and this is no exception. Honestly, you shouldn't expect anything else from this one. Story is a bit weak, so it is mostly about about the wave after wave of killing the stuff that's trying to kill you. Customization options within the game are one of the best I have seen in a while.

Very fun and action packed game, for those who are interested in the sub-genre. Keep in mind this is not your average FPS, it's a niche title.

Everybody knows, what we can do in serious sam. This game is similar to the previous. In this part of serious sam story we have better graphics. Gameplay slowly accelerates, but this is still old good serious sam. If you have got some money and you want to kill a lot of enemiesbuy this game

Pretty much exactly as fun as the other games in the series with better graphics and some gameplay improvements. Best with a friend on coop, as always!

A really fun and addicting game! An awesome fast paced action FPS game with nice graphics, especially the blood and gore. The story is great and the campaign is long with heaps of violent and hardcore monsters to kill.

It's so much fun in Co-Op with 15 other players!

BUT, sadly the multiplayer is pretty dead. Like it is/was with all the previous Serious Sam games.

Currently there are only about 2 full co-op srevers in EU region.

I found this to be the best serious sam installment in terms of gameplay and graphics. There are more ways of disposing of enemies, a lot more aliens will appear and swarm you than any other similar game can handle and the variety of weapons will keep you excited all the way through. The graphics are quite awesome and optimized for the pc. There are so many options to customize. Graphics gets even better towards the latter half of the game.

The plot is rather shallow and short but the increasing difficulty will keep you busy for many hours.

Finally an old-school shooter that takes all the best parts of its previous games and put them all together in a brand new game! Playing through the game in CO-OP on the hardest difficulty really was on of the best times I´ve had playing a game in a very long time. The speed, the adrenalin, the sheer number of enemies on the screen at once! It all boggles your mind and really gets your blood pumping!

There is also a smaller user-scene which creates new levels, but sadly the SeriousEngine isn't really easy to work with so it is quite difficult to make your own. But none the less, the game is fantastic and I would recommend it to all fans of the "shoot-everything-as-fast-as-possible"-genre!

One of the best single player shooters I have played in a long time, hecticly running around dodging bullets and rockets. Haven't tried the multiplayer modes yet, but the coop modes are really fun to play with friends or people online.

I had not been a huge fan of the Serious Sam series but this one I really enjoyed. There is a large variety of weapons and monsters to kill as well as large open landscapes to explore with lots of hidden items to find too. The multi-player was not what I expected so I will probably be avoiding that but the single player is great on it's own.

Croteam is one of the "oldest" indie developers on the PC market, but they're also (arguably) one of the strongest. Serious Sam being their flag-ship series, and a great one at that. For a bit of a history lesson, Serious Sam was a fast-paced, hectic, FPS back in the day that actually included a tangible story when most other games in the genre (Most notably Quake & Unreal) had very little story to them.

Serious Sam 3 comes back in style this time around, with another call back to the series roots with Egypt, but not sub-coming to "Gears of Brown" syndrome of making the game look drab and boring. The gameplay is fast, the gun play is just as chaotic & hectic as it has always been, the story has a perfect blend of over the top fun without jumping the shark (Lookin at you Duke Nukem Forever) as well has having one of the best co-op modes in gaming history.

Large, rich, and expansive battlefields with 16 players is more fun then you could ever hope for. More so when you're not forced to be tacti-cool ( I won't glare at you modern military shooters ) but instead, you're encouraged to use skill based gun-play with a combination of flare to take down a challenge.

Most story & mission elements are well thought out, some bits drag on and it's not perfect, but with the amount given to you on the single player side, I can easily overlook the bad.

On the downside though, Croteam apparently lost all creative ability when it came to designing the multiplayer. As silly as these next few lines may sound, I encourage you to read on. The shotguns are OP and still not fixed, other guns are downright useless (Sniper Rifles especially) as well as the level design being absolutely horrible.

The multiplayer can be balanced and fixed though, playing with friends is still great, being a steamworks title it's easy to jump in and out of. Like wise, Croteam has an all-star crew with great reputation for post-release game support. So I wouldn't count them out just yet.

At the $20 (USD) less than normal price for a AAA Game, I could easily recommend picking this title up. Especially when it goes on sale.

Looking for an old school shooter? Do not look any further. This is serious fun. I am having a blast with this one. I dont care about no story! Cant stand waiting through the next cut scene anymore. I do not want to memorize 30+ hotkeys. I want to start shooting!

A refreshing approach to FPS gaming today. Lets rock!
