GAME SUMMARY

Skyscraper Simulator

Rating: 2.1 (17 votes cast)

You're a constructer and you’ve specialized in the "bringing up" of skyscrapers. Due to your specialization over the years you constantly get new orders for higher and higher skyscrapers all over the world. Within your responsibilities are the planning, the supply with construction materials and sometimes even the operation of the big machinery such as cranes, forklifts and trucks. In the beginning you are dealing with multistory town houses, but later on you find yourself in realizing magnificent buildings for the rich and famous.

A level is considered to be solved, if, within the specified time, the received contracts and tasks have been fulfilled. But be careful, unpredictable events always affect the current happenings, such as:

  • Work stoppages
  • Weather conditions such as wind, ice and rain
  • Onlookers
  • Technical defects

During the game the player receives more and more new tools, machines and experience points. In addition to the linear career mode, the level can be selected individually and high scores for this certain level can be stored, once you have accomplished all tasks. Thus, on the hunt for the high score, the game can be played with friends too.

Skyscraper Simulator review

This game is not hard to learn at all, although the tutorial isn't perfect. There several things you do. 1. You choose and buy the property in which you choose to build on. 2. You decide which type of building to build (usually more than one choice is available). 3. You hire and assign workers. 4. You buy trucks (their work assignments are automatic except for the cranes). 5. You sell or rent out the completed building. This is not a fun game. Most of the time, I found myself spending more time watching the construction rather than participating in it (there are three speed modes to minimize the waiting time). The building construction isn't very detailed, but it is fairly fun to watch (after a few buildings, you may get tired of it). I do not recommend this game to others except for diehard simulator fans.

Great building and planning game. One draw back is that once you build a couple of buildings to sell or rent out. There is really no advancement or problems, just sell or build more buildings and making money is pretty easy. I played it for 6 hours and was finished.
