Not Bad

Great, simple, older game. If you have fond memories of the series I would definitely recommend it. Also a good game for kids (or at least, I was when I played the first one) if they're not already in love with other, fancier and better looking games.

Oh my, oh my, this brought back so much memories back when I was a 13-year old kid busily plotting the downfall of rival empires through economic warfare and devious subterfuge, just before amassing my grand mercenary army backed with advanced siege engines and a bunch of weirdo Fryhtans to totally stomp them to the ground. The fact this 1999 game still plays perfectly on Win7 is a testament to its enduring appeal. And by the way, just ignore the shoddily made sequel !

Every single aspect of the first game has been modified in some way, and all of it for the better. The only real problem is that maps could be a little larger to make longer games more interesting. Trevor Chan has created a perfectly balanced conquest and combat game that deserves the widest possible audience, and has all the depth that Age of Empires lacked. Seven Kingdoms II is without question one of the finest strategy games on the market, largely because the world it creates has realistic dynamics and complexity. That complexity never overwhelms, but adds a richness found far too rarely in strategy games.

So glad to have found this one! A real classic. Strong RTS gameplay that still holds up today, and with a spot-on fantasy theme. You can tell from the screenshots that the graphics aren't anything to write home about, but they do the job. I had some sound problems on win 7 x64 but the game played fine for me on my XP system. Give it a try!

Different kind of strategy game, and fun. The learning curve is fast. You do need to learn it as it is different than other RTS's, nothing too major, but different. It's still rewarding. The graphics are outdated but work, as that's not where the game's strength lies. The sound effects I could do without. They didn't seem to be in sync and the same sound over and over and over and over again. Got to be pretty annoying in combat. But it is an older game. Still worth playing, even by today's standards.

I really think this game adds an interesting concept, as you blend in realworld nations against fictional myth creatures.

The graphics is quite ok, due to it being an old game. But it is really a bargain for the price.
