Something old, something new

By Wolfborn posted 28th March

Shad'O brings enough interesting mechanics to the Tower Defence genre to make it stand-out from the competition, but unless you already like the genre, there isn't much for you in this game. Shad'O has a somewhat novel storytelling method, but sadly the voice acting is very poor-- more often than not I found myself reading the subtitles as fast as possible and just skipping the spoken dialogue all together.

The mechanics themselves are sound and the fog of war mechanic creates some nice tension and forces you to play differently than you would most Tower Defence titles. If you like the genre, you can't go wrong with Shad'O; if however you don't... then I'd say it's best you look elsewhere for a better way to spend your money on.
