Reviews:

... Sequence is one of only four or five games I've ever played that lives up to its potential so absolutely and with so little room for improvement." 100% - Bit-Gamer.net

Sequence review

This game is pretty interesting because it renews the old DDR principle with its RPG side. It also offers a quite good challenge if you take on of the two last levels of difficulty.

The story is nice and can make you want to know what happens next and the graphics are beautiful. Furthermore, the musics, mostly made by Ronald Jenkees, are really nice.

The only downsides are the number of musics, the redundancy in the monsters' appearance and the levelling needed.

Firstly, on each floor (7 in total) you have 3 musics. Each new floor adds only 1 music, which means that in the end, you have about a dozen of musics to play with, which is too few.

Secondly, even if the monsters are well drawn, there is a little bit too much of swap-color.

Finally, you need to beat the same monsters on the same music several time to get their components needed for crafting or to get stronger enough to beat the boss.

However, those issues are due to the fact that this is an independent game with low financial means. If it has been a big company game, it would have been one of the best rhythm games of its time.

In conclusion, despite some issues due to its very way of creation, this game is really worth it and could have been more expensive.
