Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory review

By Yobokkie posted 8th May

Whilst the first 2 games in the series set the tone and established the basic mechanics, this is the game where it all came together perfectly. As such it is the pinnacle of the series and still superior to Double Agent and conviction. Gameplay allows for a totally non-lethal approach and multiple solutions to the problems encountered, making this a must-play for any fan of the genre, and in fact if you claim to like stealth games and haven't played this yet you are probably not being completely honest about your preference. :-)

The control scheme is tight, the dynamic lighting and sounds are perfect and overall this is one game you have to play if you haven't already.

This game is wonderful. Its fun, stealthy goodness at its best. And the coop missions are fun and challenging. Honestly I consider this the best splinter cell game out of the bunch.

One of the best stealth games of all times. Once you get inthe the world of Sam Fisher you cannot get out. It's an innmersive experience like no others, with a brillian backgraund story that only Tom Clancy could have written.

The campaign offers you the freedom to do things your way, which makes it fun and replayable--and better than the previous Splinter Cells.

Awesome game! Better than number 2! Not as good as number 4 though. Worth the three dollars either way. Go for it. Trust me. Worth it!!! Also try Skyrim its much better but not the same genre.

This is the best of the Splinter Cell Games in my opinion. I have put more hours into this game than any of the other titles of this series. If you're looking for a great single player experience or even an awesome co-op campaign, I cannot recommend this title enough.

Splinter Cell is a game where stealth is key - hiding in shadows and waiting for that perfect moment to strike is half the fun. Of course you can go in and start firing your guns but you probably won't last too long. Plus you won't get the satisfaction of a perfectly planned take-down.

I think this is the best game in the series. It's got a perfect balance of action and stealth, and the game mechanics are executed very well. If you were to buy any of the Splinter Cell games, it'd be this one - it's not expensive either!

Though the competitive multiplayer mode and new cooperative campaign are the most original aspects of Chaos Theory, the solo campaign is the highlight. It's once again composed of a linear series of missions, but these are generally bigger, more open-ended and simply more fun than those of the previous games. Set in the near future, the campaign focuses on the threat of informational warfare and a tenuous relationship between the United States, North Korea, and Japan. Enter Sam Fisher, who's summoned to various international hot spots to find the truth and possibly to silence certain dangerous individuals. You'll control him from a third-person perspective as he infiltrates enemy compounds and ventilates his foes.

JUST A PURE ACTION .... MUST HAVE !

This is the defining Splinter Cell game of the series. Fans will say this is the best and all others are compared lower to it, I disagree. Chaos Theory is really good, no doubt, but for the time of each release, each SC game sets the bar higher and higher. This one has amazing visuals, sound, gameplay, everything. Runs best on XP however, some users on Vista or 7 have reported activation problems in the past, but mine works great on 7 x64.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory review

By preciousgollum posted 22nd March 2011

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is quite simply the best Splinter Cell game in the franchise, surpassing its predecessors and (unfortunately) even besting the sequels. Decent third-person stealth games are a rarity and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory reigns supreme.

Critically acclaimed upon release in 2005, Chaos Theory combines a well crafted single-player experience, of which the series is well known for, with a superbly original Multiplayer mode that has been refined since its introduction in the previous game: Pandora Tomorrow. Spys vs Mercs is an interesting video game take on the age-old cops and robbers type gameplay, made sleak, stealthy, tense and ultimately a rewarding alternative to the myriad of First-Person shooters.

This reviewer has spent a great length of time playing both Multiplayer games on the Xbox and, since becoming more enthusiastic for the PC and due to the shutdown of the xbox live support for SCCT, I purchased this game and am reliving fond memories once more.

I believe it stands up well against more modern games and is definitely still worth playing, even if just for the single-player, easily being worth the admission price alone, or that occasional and well executed multiplayer necksnap of your foes, shared with a small but dedicated online community.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory review

My views are based on the co-op part of the game since co-op was the reason I bought Chaos Theory.

The game still looks nice even if it's not visually as stunning as it must have been five yers ago when the game was released.

The game had only like six co-op maps and it took me and my friend around 5-6 hours to beat them, so it's not one of the longest games out there. But more importantly it was fun. I've played a lot of co-op games but this is the first one where you actually (to some extent)have to cooperate with your friend. But once again it is too easy to just shoot your way through most part of the game. It is supposed to be a stealth game after all. Maybe I should have tried a higher difficulty level.

I'd recommend this game if you are into co-op games. There are also other modes like deathmatch and such but I didn't try them. The co-op missions are different from the single player campaign and as far as I know they should take about the same ammount oftime to beat. I played the single campaign a bit but personally I found it to be boring to play this kind of game alone.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is a stealth game in third person. Chaos Theory is the third game in the Splinter Cell saga. The game follows the covert activities of Sam Fisher, an agent of the National Security Agency.

A graphic level, it remains one of the games most beautiful and visually stunning in their PC versions. Maintains its principal virtue, making us feel like a spy really.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory review

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, the third episode of the series made by ubisoft and Tom Clancy, this episode we see a lot of changes since the pandora tomorrow, as the withdrawal of "SWAT turn".

first improvement is the graphics, best graphics on Xbox, and the 1st game with support for pixel shader 3.0, impresionate shows details such as lighting, shadows and textures, all well defined.

the gameplay: it was not refined changed many things but unless some moves like spinning swat q can be useful in a firefight, although it is best to avoid confrontation because the enemy AI is good and can impede their work.

sounds: they are fantastic, you can hear everything clearly, with a home theater you will have a much better immersion, highly recoemndaod play with a maximum volume to hear things q q can not imagine how step and heard some talk there of enemies.

Final consideration: innovation in graphics, refined gameplay, fixes some flaws, but not all, but it was v. good produced end to end with co-op mode helps to have more playing time this way not only sinned by being longer, the versus mode remains intact, unchanged so some extra maps, and finally a good game, but who does not like splinter cell is unlikely to start liking for this, for beginners and longtime players of the series may find the best title of the series until this time, because chaos theory and one of the most complete of the series until today
