Rainbow Mystery review

Average match-3 game.

Nice music and gameplay but nothing special. Graphics are a little dated and the game easily runs on an older PC-- but what do you expect? This is an indie game.

The game basically has you play as Lilly, whose quest is to learn of her birth and her destiny. You only find out what happens to her and her origins at the end of the game.

The game comprises of boards with flowers on them, and you as the player have to match up 3 of the same coloured flowers up when the hexagonal board pieces are surrounded by a case of the colour of the flower to needs to be matched up to.

Gameplay is fun and addictive-- it's a game pretty much like Pringles: once you play, you don't want to stop. Gameplay is simple and repetitive, though. There are a few different modes, but these don't add anything special on top of the original timed mode with story. It's worth bothering with the timed mode, but only with the other modes if you're really into the game and/or gameplay.

Overall, not a bad little game to waste a few hours on. Not too difficult a puzzler, either.

Sugar games may not have an extensive library of games available but up to now, all are highly enjoyable. It's the 3rd game I buy from this little indie dev team and must say I'm glad I did. Sure, most may find the setting cheesy but for the sleepless nights, it's more than enough ;p There a fair amount of level to complete and once again there's the relaxed mode I enjoy (who want's to get stressed up at 3am). Gameplay is the simple gems(flower) swapping fare so don't expect innovation in that department but if you like this type of casual title, buy it with confidence.
