Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands review

Not the best game in the Prince of Persia Series, the combat lacks the sense of "omph" the three first had (I'm not counting the silly cell shaded one), but the platforming and puzzle sequences are top notch. I also give ubisoft credit for actually giving us some more insight in "the princes" family. If you have played the other games pick this one up, if you have not, pick it up if you like an easy hack and slash game with smooth platforming.

A solid enough game in the series, challenging yet fun. Story line is the usual P.o.P dross but can't imagine people buying it for that anyway. If you're a regular to the series, this won't disappoint. 4* - 8/10 - 1 ˝ thumbs up

STAY away from this game. It has online always drm with separate uplay downloader and game provider(like steam) where you are forced to register!! Its big deal because already almost every game is doing that kind of thing, soon you will need a book of passwords and account manager.

Even patched game refuses to play in bigger any resolution except the default.. 1280px*720px

The game seems slugish, and much slower than comparing the previous games(i mostly compare to warrior within because that game has polished game mechanics and if you will change it, you will only do the worse)

Cinematics and graphics are decent but it wont matter if you are strongly against every "better" game forcing its own drm and more.

The game takes place somewhere in the Sands of Time trilogy and is a lot more similar to those games than the 2008 incarnation of Prince of Persia. The graphics are beautiful for the most part, very colorful and vibrant, the environments look nicely detailed and animations are smooth. The combat however does drop some points with a much more basic and much less acrobatic and fluid fighting system than the former games. However the game redeems itself with the excellent rhythmic puzzle platforming which is as good as in the original Sands of Time.

Luckily the battles are quite easy and over quickly so you'll be enjoying yourself for the grand majority of the game.

Prince of Persia has always been a rather unique platformer series. The Forgotten Sands is at the same time quite a enjoyable chapter in the series. The control feels good, and that is also why this game series known for. The combat doesn't shine too much, but you don't have to do that too often anyway. The puzzles are quite clever thanks to the new abilities. I only hope the game can be longer.

First up, it must be said that the game is a great experience and probably the sequel that is most faithful to the original Sands of Time game. The new element-based abilities are exciting and provide with a level of complexity and pressure in the puzzles that isn't matched in any of the previous games of the series.

Yet, the game comes with several issues that must be mentioned; the first to pop in my mind is the length of the overall adventure, very short in comparison to both the original and Warrior Within. Veterans of the series will hardly take more than a few hours play, as the puzzles aren't that hard to figure out but only need practice to be executed. The second problem is the combat system, which is very flawed if compared to the one employed in Warrior Within or even Sands of Time. It does not provide with a great array of combos (despite the added bonus of element abilities) and overall lacks challenge. One can easily beat the game without being game over from a fight, ever. Finally, despite the setting having the now familiar yet still exquisite exotic taste, the story itself holds no surprises and falls a bit flat when compared with the plot twists of Warrior Within for example.

Overall the game has good features and a fast-paced progression that can really keep the player on the edge, alternating puzzles and combat to keep pressing onward. It is beautiful and nice-sounding, but lacks in certain key areas that prevent it from dethroning Sands of Time for the top of series.
