    FEATURES

A planet-wide epidemic caused by an extraterrestrial virus totally changed all women of the planet Velian. Their bodies transformed to become parts of a collective intelligence, presumably controlled by some non-humanoid creatures. The Velian men proved to be resistant to the virus, but they lost their status of free intelligent beings and only existed as suppliers of biomaterial for further gene experimentation and as parts of a complex biomechanical system. Society has become a kind of matriarchal hive.

The Galactic Federation lost several dozens of transports due to enemy attacks in the second half of the 24th century. A deep analysis of the situation made it clear that the aggressor comes from the Velian star system. It is there that the Federation is sending an expeditionary corps to destroy the hostile civilization that threatens the very existence of the human race and to investigate the fate of the missing colonists.

You are a trooper of the government army sent with the expeditionary force to attack Velian. As you accomplish missions you get new opportunities in selection of weapons and military equipment. Each mission will also get you closer to the secret of the origin of the Velian anomaly of the human race.

    • Your hero can use numerous types of the armored space suits equipped with assorted gear to help in your mission
    • Face countless enemies of mutated women and alien creatures
    • Non-stop 3D action set in a futuristic universe
    • Over 15 different and deadly weapons to choose from
    • 18 intensive, heart-pounding levels
    • Rag doll physics and true damage system brings realism to every encounter.

I really wanted to enjoy this game but sadly, it didn't deliver what I expected. First off, gameplay is bland and uninspired. Take a basic sci-fi shooter, rip-off everything that could make it fun and original and voila, you get Operation Matriarchy. Levels are straight-forward and enemies are so dumb that they'll plain run in group right to your gun for you to mow them down. There's no video and almost no cut-scenes, so the story is delivered by small snippets of text at the loading of a level. Sound is an absolute mess; gun sounds are muffled and annoying plus there no soundtrack so no in-game music. Environmental sounds are badly done and what to say about the grunts and cries that your enemies emits – plain awful. Graphics are ho-hum; most levels are dull and all the characters (humans and enemies alike) suffers from an excessive shiny skin syndrome ( they must love to take care of their skin condition...go figure ;p ). Honestly, the overall product gives me the feeling that I bought an alpha/tech-demo of some low-end engine. To conclude, probably one of the worst FSP I've played in the last year and a experience most sane gamers should steer clear from, looks like I need to consult!
