Has it's moments, but arcade racing at its best

By On2wheels posted 10th May

For a quick pick up and play arcade racer this is pretty good, with very nice visuals, assuming your pc is quick enough. I didnt have any problems with an nvidia 560ti 1gb, and a 3750k cpu.

Sounds are also pretty decent too, giving you just the righ amount of excitement when things heat up.

The one major gripe I have with this and most EA racing games is the way they show you notices in game, like when you pass or earn xp, they show it in large capital text right in the middle of the screen, exactly where you're looking when driving. EA needs to learn not to do this.

A cinematic racing experience. This game tones down the series' customized street racing era.

Flashy graphics are its best point, it needs a good PC for full effect.

This game is not as good as the previous of the serie, but you'll find the same mechanics as the last ones. I find this one more difficult though.

Pros : Speed, Arcade driving, good looking.

Cons : The QTE sequences are far from essential, story is pretty meh.

Simply beautiful racing game taking advantage of Frostbite engine. Driving mechanics has right balance of reality and arcade control. The latest patch also takes care of FPS cap, so the player can have better experience on faster graphic card. Best played with controller and surround sound system. It's a solid piece!

Short game, great graphics, and powered by the same engine that powers Battlefield 3, frostbite 2.0. As I said, the game is very short. It can be beaten within 2 hours of gameplay. The graphics are very good for a racing game. But this Need For Speed is not the best in the series. Its average. It has quicktime events in it, a little akward, I may say, but nothing that could ruin the experiencie. If you're looking for a short racing game to play on thw weekends, this is it. If you're looking for something deeper, this is not the game for you. Its fun while it lasts.

this series Need for Speed, as I really like some deliveries, if you have good graphics and everything, yet has many video that eventually one does not like, is occupied much story told?, buy it because it was very tender.

Need for Speed The Run review

This isn't like most other Need For Speed games. It lacks a lot of what Need for Speed pioneered: customization, good AI, and long play time. It does not let you change much on any of the cars. The body and color, that's it. The story mode is very short. There really is not a AI, just a giant rubber band. And honestly if I did not know better I wouldn't say it was a NFS title. But that does not mean its bad. While you cannot customize the cars as much as before, the cars now are varied and beautiful. And while the story is short its still very fun, and has a "challange series" to make up for it. All the tracks are extremely well done, and stunning. If you are looking for a good racing game and are fine with little customization and a short story then you could do far worse than The Run.

Need for Speed the Run is a terribly underrated gem. It has fantastic graphics (you need a very good gfx card), spectacular sound (I recomend a good surround kit), and it feels like a NFS speed game. The Run takes a new direction and lets you live a new experience (no spoilers). If you like arcade racing games, this game is for you. Best played with a racing wheel or a gamepad (keyboard is not suitable for racing games).

Need for Speed The Run review

This is perhaps the worst Need for Speed to date. Aside from troubles with Origin the game is buggy. Add to that it's just not as fun as it's predecessors with less customization options and oh yeah it starts with a quick time event and then an painfully long cut scene. Bad controls coupled with bugs and more lens flair than a J.J. Abrams flick makes this near unplayable, find Most Wanted and give this one a pass.

This is the best Need for Speed yet. I like the speed you feel going down the road and I appreciate that I don't loose all control when I start racing with the faster cars.

Great fun for the current price! Although the story is a bit cheesy (still fun though), the multiplayer and the Challenge series is awesome! 4 stars because of the various glitches that I encountered when playing through the storyline, but overall solid game.

Need for Speed The Run review - A Thrilling ride.

An innovative racing title using some of the latest graphics technology available (Frostbite 2 Engine).

Need for Speed is a thrilling ride. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys driving/racing games with a thriller twist.

others have hit most of the bullet points so ill just say i like this game because it lets you drive across the scenic USA. it also gets brutal kudos for using a ministry song in a cop fight scenario. over all this is a really fun game, but might not be for people more accustomed to going around tracks.

important: you can just plug the serial number into origin directly instead of downloading the installer from gamers gate since the first thing it does is make you register with origin anyways.
