Neopets Puzzle Adventure review

Neopets offers adds RPG upgrades to the abstract game Othello/Reversi. The problem is that the Othello game never increases in difficulty so that the longer you play Neopets, the easier the game becomes -- and frankly the game starts out pretty easy as the computer does not play a perfect game. To make things worse one of the earliest neopets you capture gives you the ability to switch a piece to your color and not end you turn three times per game -- having that once per a game should be enough to ensure you never have any chance of losing. I played the game for a while pretending my character didn't have any neopets or upgrades and that gave it some life as just Othello on your computer. It is a bit different in that you win based on points which you gain from flipping pieces rather than from having the most pieces of your color on the board at the end and there are some squares that supply 50 points to the person who first lands there. This was interesting to explore for a while -- but still it'd be better to just download a free Othello game from the internet -- also in those I'd bet the computer would be more proficient.
