  • Play with (against!) your friends on three multiplayer maps where you must control victory locations to win.
  • Adapt your tactics to strengths and weaknesses of different sides of the conflict while playing five thrilling single-player missions.

Special Edition Content:

  • NVA soldiers battle US Troops for control of a nameless sector near Cambodia border.
  • Four survivors, passengers of a shot-down US helicopter, try to escape from Vietcong territory.
  • Surrounded Vietcong soldiers make their last stand against the US Army onslaught in the ruined Catholic church converted into a makeshift weapons depot.
  • Vietcong subversive group must infiltrate the area patrolled by ARVN and Green Berets using only knifes and silenced weapons.
  • Commander of the NVA tank platoon decides to launch an all-out attack in a bold attempt to take out US Field HQ.

Men of War: Vietnam is a new game for the critically acclaimed series. The new, story-driven campaign lets you taste the explosive mix of the jungle, Hueys and rock-n-roll in 1968. The US campaign focuses on a team of elite special ops soldiers, and each one of them has a personality. The unit includes Sergeant John Merrill, machinegunner Jim Walsh, sniper Sonny Armstrong, grenade launcher operator Carl Dillan and combat engineer Bill Kirby. In some missions they can count only on themselves, while in the others they act together with regular US and South-Vietnamese troops. The North Vietnam campaign tells the story of two Soviet military consultants and two soldiers of the North Vietnam Army who are the only survivors of an ambush prepared by the US troops. The task of getting back to the North Vietnam territory is a difficult one – they have no means of radio communication, no wheeled vehicles, and it’s too far to make it there on foot. On their way these survivors get involved in a chain of bloodbath engagements and find themselves in the dead center of the well-known Tet offensive. Missions range from special operations (rescuing a shot-down pilot, escorting a reporter, etc.) to full scale battles.

Key features:

  • There are two sides in every story, so two new story-driven campaigns attempt to show the war from both sides.
  • Breathtaking missions including an ambush on the Ho Chi Minh trail, a game of cat and mouse in the Mekong Delta, raids into Cambodia and Laos, bridge defense during the Tet offensive and more.
  • New weapons and units: M-16, T-54, M-113, Patton III, M-60, AK-47, M-14, RPG-2, M-72 LAW, RPK and many more.
  • Multiplayer mode – co-op for up to 4 players.

Men of War: Vietnam Special Edition review

Essentially a reskinned version of MoW:Assault Squad, Vietnam still retains the solid gameplay that led to the success of Assault Squad, but is a little too derivative. Often feels like a reskin.

Though it doesn't have the same large scale operations as the WW2 Men of War titles, Vietnam still has the same Solid strategy action.

You don't take control of as large of a variety of units, which is a shame. The core gameplay is the same. you control your squad and use flanking and suppressing fire to overcome enemy squads. The jungle environments can look pretty, though sometimes the foliage gets in the way of the camera.

While not as deep as the other games still a worthwhile title. The

The first Men of War set outside of WWII. The change of setting does not change how truly good this series is. I recommend all of them to anyone who enjoys real time strategy.

OK game in Men of War collection. It has some enjoyable missions but it's not as strong as the previous titles in the series. With some new additions the game deserves taking a look, as it is heavily focused on single-player campaign, but it's not such a game that you'll be coming back for more.

My least favorite expansion of the Men of War universe. Too many factors of the American's War in Vietnam cannot be added to a tactical strategy game simply and this wonderful francise makes no effort to add these elements. It is too bad because this series is awesome at strategy but this war was decided differently.

Great Game!

Its a great game with fun missions and, tons of new units. New tanks and helicopters with editor to custom your missions and design new maps or, just to miss around with. The helicopter are fun to play with to blow stuff up or terrorize your enemey.

A mostly great addition to the Men of War series, taking the action to the jungles of Vietnam for a change. A lot of great new vehicles and weapons to play with too. Gameplay is more or less the same as in the previous games so veterans will feel right at home. The only real gripe, and its a big one, is the fact that the trees tend to block visibility of your own units, making it often hard to select them and gain situational awareness with the result that you'll often be forced to reload after losing half your force through no real fault of your own but rather because you couldn't find them in time! One extra bonus is that finally you have a Vietnam war game where you can play as the North Vietnamese and actually carry out the kinds of hit and run and ambush tactics the North were famous for.

Great game, I think its better than the previous men of wars as it takes even more micromanagement and planning to beat. Its quite challenging. Still if you like any of the rest of the men of wars you will like this one.

Modern Warfare

By Fred_DM posted 11th April 2012

The only game in the Men of War series not set in WWII, Men of War: Vietnam offers a different kind of war. Thick jungles, fully automatic assault rifles, helicopter gunships, napalm strikes, heavily armed river patrol boats, flamethrower tanks - you need to adjust your trusted Men of War tactics in this new kind of conflict.

This is primarily a singleplayer-oriented stand-alone expansion to the original Men of War. The 2 campaigns follow an American Special Forces squad and a Communist squad consisting of Russian Special Forces advisers and NVA officers through a series of smaller-scale squad-based operations. You won't find any of the original Men of War's large-scale battles here. Instead the game plays a lot more like Commandos.

This is also one of the few games of this kind set in the Vietnam War.

Latest game in Men of War series, this time in Vietnam. Great campaign is weakened with maps loaded with dense foliage restricting your view. Also causing slow downs at times.

Mostly a singleplayer oriented game also comes with co-op mode.

If you are into strategy games, you must at least try this one as Men of War series is turning into quite a great series.

As a fan the Men of War series this game is a great addition. The style of these games is very engaging which leaves you feeling like every order you issue affects the overall game play allowing you to choose to play it to your preferred style. Do you go in all guns blazing or a sneaky ambush attack? I hope there will be more in the series.

well not as good as the previous installments mow Vietnam still has much to offer the squad versus many aspect of gameplay really does make it feel like guerrilla warfare not to mention it has some of the best music of the series and while the voice acting isn't exactly A material (a problem that has always plagued the mow franchise) it's still better than it's predecessors but not by much, overall the game is more single player oriented but it still offers a lot in terms of a story,in conclusion i would strongly recommend this to fans of the series
