GAME SUMMARY

Medal of Honor

Rating: 3.9 (51 votes cast)

Operating under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors is called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators. There are more than 2 million Americans who proudly wear the uniform, of which some 50,000 fall under the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane above and beyond even this select group. Their exact numbers, while classified, are believed to be in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence.

Medal of Honor’s gritty single-player campaign is inspired by and developed with actual Tier 1 Operators, and gives you the unique ability to step into their boots. Utilize the surgical skill set of these elite warriors -- in combination with the overwhelming force of the U.S. Army Rangers – to infiltrate enemy-held territories in the unforgiving battlefield conditions of Afghanistan. This unparalleled experience offers the most authentic and relevant combat to date.

Getting back to the core of heart-pounding, all-out action, Medal of Honor multiplayer plays out in close quarters where the individual player’s skill is the most important tool for survival. Two teams of up to twelve players battle against one another on eight custom maps in the unforgiving mountains, valleys, and cities of Afghanistan. The unique game modes feature modern-day vehicles, realistic destruction, plus a weapon customization system that grants you access to hundreds of combinations of mods. When the battle is over, see how you stack up against other players on the game’s skill-specific leaderboards.

Medal of Honor review

I waited for this game to go on sale before I bought it and I'm glad I did. It's a very good game, but not worth $60 or even $40 simply because the campaign is so short. That being said, it is a well crafted campaign that allows you to play in various forms such as SEALs, Rangers, Apache pilots, snipers, and secret ops. You also get to drive several vehicles. Furthermore, the weapon selections are nice and the targeting is smooth and easy. Some of the chapters get pretty intense and your teammates actually do a decent job helping you out (but they do get in your line of sight sometimes. Overall it's a good game with a good - but short - campaign. Check it out.

I really enjoyed playing this game, actually twice. Kind of reminds me of the movie "Act of Valor" because the game has 'that' feel to it. There are plenty of terrorists to take down in a variety of environments with real life weapons. The price is right now so there is no excuse anymore to not buy it. Buy the game; you won't be disappointed.

I have read the reviews and was inicially scheptical of the game, but at $6.99 it was still tempting. I was pleasantly surprized. Game was visually pleasant, actually a pleasure to the eye. Yes, it is scripted, but it is so intuitive you cannot miss it. It is short and I consider it a big plus, as I don't have the time anymore to play 40+ hours a week. You can do single player in about 6 hours. The dedication at the end was quite cliche and I hope it did not offend the people it meant to honor, for which I have the deepest respect. Plot was very good, story was good and I thoroughly enjoyed this title, strongly recommend.

A FPS, heavy on the action with almost no time to breathe before firefights. Very linear game progression and game world. More than even CoD. For a low price FPS with good production values, it is worth buying.

Medal of Honor review

Having played the original, and Allied Assault I came to this game , with an open mind despite what every one, and every review told me. Little did I know that I was in for a huge disappointing wish. Campaign is extremely short I breezed it on one sitting 3 1/2 hours for me, reload animations look way too 1995, they look one sided, clunky and it simply ain't something to write home about(These are not the only quirks there many others, but writing them would take a whole page). The story itself while interesting is just butchered by the bad execution of the above mentioned, making me forget about it all together.

Multiplayer was handled by DICE, and they dropped the ball badly, guns have 0 recoil, map design is abysmal with camping+spawn-camping being bread and butter in all maps. While guns feel like cardboard boxes that when shot make the sound of drum rolls. The whole thing is a joke, the multy if looked even more closely one can dare say that it was testing ground for BF3[But that just me, (just take a look at the whole hud)].

Overall I would only purchase this game for 2 dollars, and I paid 5.99, and still think it is too expensive. If this was a tribute to the troops, honestly it is a disgrace. If you are wondering if the Multy is still active, well, on average it has 700~800 people playing.

Pros:

-The weapons have a nice "weight" to them, and look pretty impressive when firing.

-The graphics are nice, if a little on the brown side.

-The single-player campaign, while short, actually does make you interested in the characters, mainly because you see the story from multiple perspectives.

Cons:

-Little to no destruction physics

-Explosives do almost no damage

-The weapons are incredibly unbalanced (Bolt-Action Rifles being 1-shot kills and pin-point accurate)

-The bullet lag is atrocious, even on single-player bullets continue following through multiple walls/rocks.

-The maps are maybe big enough for 4v4, not 12v12.

-The maps are as badly balanced as the weapons.

-Spawn-camping is incredibly easy.

In the end, the game did a few things right, but those few are buried under a metric-ton of half-finished material that was released so EA could make a quick buck.

As a serving soldier I Bought this game expecting a half decent single player story and a solid online shooter from the creators of Bad company 2. I was greeted with a disappointing Single player which is basically an on rails shoot em up,and a downright criminal Multi player that was far far worse than any I have experienced in the last 5 years, with a health bar so low that it will quickly turn into a camp-fest for even the most suicidal of online gamer. 0/5 Buy Bad Company 2 instead don't believe the hype.

Not worth $60 for two reasons:

1. While the singleplayer is pretty fun, it is also very short (about 5 hours on normal difficulty). The graphics are decent, although no Anti-Aliasing can make for some rough edges

2. For anyone who has played both betas, you have experienced 4 of the 8 maps already... Yeap, that is correct, the full game only has 8 multiplayer maps. This means there are only 4 maps you have not seen yet, (1 combat mission, 3 other). Not only this, but there are only 3 other weapons to unlock... And some that are only unlocked for people who bought from certain stores (m60 from gamestop, etc.) To me, this is insane for a $60 AAA title. EA really dropped the ball on multiplayer, not sure if they just rushed this game out or what, but 8 maps for a game like this is entirely not worth it...

Moral of the Story: Wait for the price to drop to about $30.... and hope that some new maps are released by then... (and that EA doesn't charge for them).
