Being a long time fan of Majesty 1 and Gold, I really enjoyed Majesty 2 at the start, but slowly became dissapointed. The AI is so much more enhanced and the humour is great, the environment is nicely built and the monsters are improved. Also, the interface is easier to use and in campaign mode you are allowed the ability of using relics which give periodic advantages and heroes can always be revived, regardless of whether you have a spell to do so or not. On a lesser note, all the heroes look basically the same when running around as do their attacks and the buildings are all blue, there’s not the distinctive look of everything as with the original. Instead of pulling off a unique looking game, it just blends in with all the other strategy games. Furthermore, when a hero dies, there is only sometimes a notification, and to revive a hero without a spell can cost you thousands of dollars (with a spell is hard enough when your hero list keeps bouncing around), which takes a while to build up (as heroes become higher in level, they cost more. Ex. One of my heroes cost $16,000 to revive...hated when she died). Also, the monsters can kill any of your buildings in only a few seconds and there is no notification, so if you're focusing on another part of the map, half your city could have been destroyed by one monster and you would have no idea. And heroes don't protect their homes or the palace as in Majesty 1, and they don't really hunt or explore either. Heroes do however respond to flags much more quickly, which is the primal way of completing any mission, unfortunately when you place an attack flag somewhere, all your heroes go to it and none stay in your city to help fend off beasts. Also, in campaign mode, the 'boss'es have HPs of 50,000+ and can kill all your heroes/any structure in one hit, so you have to frustratingly replay the missions so many times until you can by chance kill the boss. There is also a handy new interface button that lets you play from .2x to 5x faster than normal speed, although you end up playing the entire game at 5x because 1x ends up to be extremely slow. Things that they left out in Majesty 2: fairgrounds, temples to Lunord, gambling halls and Elven lounges, royal gardens, less variety in monsters, less spells (you can’t tell whether the spells that are given even work or not) and the worst part that they left out is that THERE ARE NO GNOMES! The highlight of Majesty 1! Overall, I would recommend playing it only for interest’s sake, but watch out, once you beat all the missions, it gets boring really fast.

As a fan of the original Majesty, I really enjoyed Majesty 2. Though the sequel offers many advancements over it's predecessor, such as a much more polished AI system and a fully 3d environment, I find it slightly unweildy, I definately miss the custom games, and most of all the gnomes.

This game holds true to the original in so many ways - Paradox have kept the essential combination of humour, strategy, fantasy and RPG well balanced, in a game which looks great and plays smoothly! While frustrating at times (as the original was!) Majesty 2 is a great play, and does require some thinking. Any fans of the original series who do not have this game would do well to purchase it now! And anyone who likes an entertaining and varied game, smoothly combining many different elements in a way unseen elsewhere, do give it a go!

Considering I have not played Majesty 1, I still found Majesty 2 to be a different, fun and interesting game. Majesty 2 attempts to blend the simulation and RTS genres together, where RTS comes out a bit stronger. On occasion, a fine element of micromanagement can mean a huge difference - for example, by healing a hero and saving yourself from any resurrect costs. Luckily, Maj2 comes with some nice time control features, allowing you to slow down or speed up the game to your liking, as well as pausing. The graphics and music in Maj2 are very appealing. The music is somewhat generic enough but catchy and fitting enough to be missed. Somewhat cartoony with an impressive physics engine makes the graphics definitely fun to see; buildings fall apart bit-by-bit and characters and monsters fly around when hit by a fireball or massive club. The gameplay itself revolves around careful placement and selection of buildings, skills, research and heroes and the placement of 4 different types of bounty flags. One must be careful not to have too many bounties out at once or else your heroes will get divided, as well as having sufficient amounts to keep your heroes interested. Many have complained about the difficulty but personally, I found it to be just right. Each stage increases in difficulty, from beginner to expert. So far, the 2 expert levels I did were challenging but not impossible. The levels before were practically a breeze. The main problem in this game is the lack of replayability. While it does have multiplayer, you'll have a difficult time finding a match. There is no random level generator or level editor, and replays of scenarios do not offer much variability. Other issues typically brought up, including poor AI and difficulty are a manner of opinion. While the AI can be shoddy at times, heroes typically get away alive from difficult battles and attack what you want, provided you provide ample rewards. If anything, low-level Wizards should be smarter and should run from enemies earlier - typically they require heavy micromanagement with fear flags. Overall, Maj2 is a satisfying, unique game with great graphics and interesting gameplay. Definitely check it out if you're bored of the same old stuff!

Majesty 2 is a great sequel to the original. For the uninitiated, Majesty is all about having absolutely no control over anything but construction and placing bounties on things. Your heroes will go after the bounties, provided you place enough money on them, and your heroes will then bring back the dough and spend it, making you more money. For veterans of the original, Majesty 2 is an updated version of the original, with all the game play. The AI seems updated to me (I don't have heroes that refuse to respond to flags no matter how much I put them up for). As well, the heroes aren't as friggin blind as they used to be, although they make a great joke about that in the intro cinematic. Updated 3D graphics and user interface make the game more enjoyable, although there is a wacky difficulty level change when you get to the harder advanced levels. Still, Majesty 2 is great fun, and a must have for any RTS gamer.

As a massive, massive fan of the original Majesty, I thoroughly enjoyed Majesty 2. It's a very different game to the original - leaving your heroes to die is now associated with some serious penalties, so there's a much stronger focus on keeping them alive. At the same time, Rogues are no longer useless in combat, and Wizards are a lot less fragile. But you can no longer explore the entire map by simply hiring a bunch of rangers and leaving them to it. Majesty 2 doesn't have the replay value of Majesty Gold, but it's also easier (a mere 'very difficult' game, as opposed to a 'practically impossible' game) and prettier. If you enjoy the humour of the trailer video and you want a challenging strategy/management game that's light on micromanagement, you'll get good value.

Majesty 2 is a decent sequel of majesty 1 but the game is missing almost all of the parts that gave the original its charm majorly its sim aspect of being able to observe the heroes lives but the game still is good if you look at it as a completely different game than the original. Majesty 2 has decent graphics my only gripe is that they seem a bit generic. The music score is great with nice orchestral music in the background. The game still has an issue with difficulty as it quickly jumps from really easy to extremely hard near the end requiring massive amounts of micromanagement to win. all in all a good game but not a true majesty sequel.

I pre-ordered Majesty 2, so began playing Majesty Gold and was very impressed with the AI. The enemy reacted pretty much as expected and my people reacted to the flags as expected. A little explanation; you cannot click on your people and right click somewhere else to move them. The way your army moves is to entice them by putting cash payment onto a flag that is posted to where you want them to move. You'll have to play the game to fully understand. After playing Majesty Gold for a week, Majesty 2 became available. What a big difference in graphics! This game has some of the best I have seen. Gameplay is much the same as the Gold edition, but the graphics is great. Also really liked the music because it coincides with gameplay. Soft music when things are peaceful, exciting music when you are battling. The people's conversation was great. Some of the comments the NCP's make are hilarious (of course I am easily amused). After a while you can tell what type of warrior is dieing by the comment you here. The servant voice that tells you when a building is complete or updated sometimes gets annoying, but after awhile you don't even notice it. I give this a five star, well worth the price.

Decent game for a few hours for me, it does not however come even close to the gameplay standard of the first Majesty game. Don't expect a improved Majesty game, M2 is basically a lookalike with different gameplay and if you are good at Majesty you'll breeze through this game though some of the more difficult scenarios are rather irritating until you get it right. Multiplayer might be one aspect that's better in M2 than the original but I didn't buy the Majesty games for multiplayer so a loss for me.

If you've played the first Majesty then you can mostly expect more of the same, though that's not a bad thing. Majesty 2 has the same uniqueness of the original, and that uniqueness can't be ignored. You'll find yourself frustrated at the inability to control your heroes directly being used to controlling every aspect of things in most games, but when things work right you feel rewarded. The difficulty seems to jump around a wee bit from mission to mission, despite the difficulty rating they list the mission under. Overall a 4, it's not close to being a 5 but it's also not close to being a 3. If you were a fan of the first one this is a must have. Also your adviser has the same voice, a major plus to all fans of the original.

I dunno man, Majesty is GREAT! the only real learning curve you'll ever have to deal with is actually not a learning curve. Just get used to the occasionally amount of invincible monster spawns that crop up when you overbuild in town. (Makes the game more fun; for some that equals harder but eh.) the game is truly awesome and a 3d version of what i love (With enhancements for sure) Surprisingly little micromanagement allows you to leasurly freak out when that uber Hero dies.. meh, enough cash and he can always come back. =Love game

This game doesn't come to the beginner very recommended. Because this game demands quite a lot of endurance. Therefore, it can be said that the balance of this game is bad. We will recommend this game to the game expert. A very high difficulty will satisfy them.
