Moral issues aside, Legio is a fun puzzle/strategy game. With a price tag under $10 it’s a hard deal to pass up on. With the swearing and violence, I would not recommend this game for kids.

This is a very little game, with a very little scope. Think about Archon... It can be fun for a while, though, and kill a few hours.

Horrible "game". Let me tell you my bias, I don’t like casual and / or puzzle games. I bought this (1) because it says "turn-based strategy" (this is almost false-advertisement) and (2) it was just a couple of dollars. Still, 2 dollars wasted.

The game force you to repeat very simple tactical choices, always the same, and after you have beaten the game 2-3 times, there is nothing else to do. On top of this absolute lack of any meaningful content, in order to make the most damage you have to click on a moving circle at the right time. How lame is that? I mean, I know that there are kids who like stuff like that, but I bought it for the turn-base strategy component, which is, clearly, not existing.

Stay away from this one, I have deleted it from my computer after 30 minutes.

I really liked the idea of Legio. You buy units and each different unit has unique abilities allowing you to create your own specialized army every battle. You can go with a ranged strategy, melee strategy, and everything in between with some magic thrown in.

Overall Legio turned out to be a pretty fun game, but when I first started playing it made me a little frustrated. In order for your unit to deal damage you have to stop a revolving circle in the middle of a bull’s eye, the closer to the middle you are the more damage that is dealt with a bull’s eye dealing the most and something outside the circle resulting in a complete miss. When I first started playing I was rarely able to deal the full amount damage, while the computer player always seemed to deal close to max damage. It didn’t matter how genius my strategies were, the computer always won because it dealt way more damage than I did. After I lost the first round the computer would get to keep its units and buy more making it pretty much impossible for me to win during the next two rounds of the game. After about the fourth game I started to get the hang of it and the game got a lot more fun.

If you end up getting this game and you get wiped out the first time you play just bear with it, it does get better.

I will make this review to the point. This is a basic game that offers only slight replay value. You start by choosing a number of various units and placing them on a grid style play-field. You move and attack when it is your turn. If you have the last man standing you win.

That is about it.

The way to win is to make sure you get to hit first and typically have more units. There is not much else to this game.

You play 2 rounds and if you win you chose "Continue" only to be dropped back to the main menu, to start all over again.

I have played about 8-10 games and find it repetitive and rather boring.

No real purpose to winning or losing, no achievements, no goals other than keeping a unit alive to win the match.

If you buy this game do yourself a favor and wait for at least a 50% off sale (that is how I bought it and it is still not worth even $5.00).

It's a nice strategy game which can be played in under a minute. Each player gets access to the same units, however there's a point limit to configure your force with per round.

Interestingly, there are only a finite number of each unit available, so if your magician fails to survive the first round you won't have one available for the second.

It's intuitive and easy to play without even looking at the manual. A little randomness is added to each attack by the use of a little arcade minigame (click the button when the circle is in the center of the target), the art style is dark but fun, and there's the odd interlude from your monarch praising or cursing their fortune as units win or lose.

All in all an excellent game for a quick break. Multiplayer is supported, both online and on the same machine too.

This is a tough, yet a good game. Very fun with a friend, almost a knock off of chess or stratego.

I'd recommend it for a tenner!

Legios is a small tactical game that plays in a squared board. Although I wouldn't relate it to chess myself (because units have special abilities, move many squares and have hitpoints) the mechanics are well thought. Winning will require careful thought on the deployment of pieces, and some skill to hit a target so units hit themselves.

The graphics are good and enjoyable and the art design is consistent across the ambient and the units.

The music also doesn't get old fast, a quality that I find most important.

For $10 bucks I gave the game a try an just like it says "Easy to learn, hard to master".

The game fought ala chess board style but with combat pieces (Think the Chess Board game from Star Wars Episode 4)

Quite fun playing solo, with a friend it could be really, really fun.

This tablet game like a chess is so funny. You can play with seven diferent creatures, wich one have diferent abilitys for the group, stats and attacks. Is a strategic game too, is real time, with two rounds, you can play with the machine or with other players on the net. Is a nice game to have a nice time when you have a break, because each combat its take over 15min.

A very fun and dynamic game. You don't need a lot of time to play a battle and this feature makes the game a good option everytime you have some time to spend. Multiplayer games give you a neverending experience; each player has its own style and this is very challenging and surprising. And the range of scenarios add another tactical factor to the way of playing the game.
