Rating: 2.7 (18 votes cast)

Knights in Shining Armor: our king’s tale is a point and click adventure game, set in a dark medieval fantasy world.

The story follows a young Prince Rupert on his way to king hood, through a different land than his own.

He would like to become one very much, but all kings need a queen and only the very best will do for the favorite son of the most powerful kingdom.

Of course in times of uncertainty it’s best to ignore such dreams and go for your toughest
enemy’s daughter.

All that‘s left now is to follow tradition and prove ones worth by making your way to your beloved.

Knights in Shining Armor: Our King's Tale Episode 1 review

By LlostSoul posted 23rd March

I never write reviews. I play the game and if I like it, great. If not, it gets deleted and I move on. But for the sake of all the people who might mistakenly spend money on this product, I feel compelled to give this warning:

This is not a game. It's not even a chapter of a game. It is essentially a trailer for a game.

This post contains SPOILERS! But hopefully you will never buy this "game" so these spoilers won't matter.

First, the only reason this "game" might take 1 hour to complete is because of the 1, yes 1, puzzle. Other than that you do little more than watch as your character speaks to 3 NPCs. The "game" starts with your PC talking to some random person. You don't get to influence what is said, you just get to sit there while your arrogant, slightly annoying PC talks to someone. When that conversation is over you walk a little to the right and talk to a female NPC (who's voice recording sounds like it was done in an echo chamber). Once again, you don't get to influence the conversation.

When that annoying conversation is complete, you walk to the bartender and have a conversation with him. During this conversation you are able to affect the conversation only minimally.

Oh, and the entire "game" takes place in 1 inn. That's it. You never get to leave the inn. You can look out a window and say "huh" but that's it.

Essentially the rest of the game is you locked in a room, completing the puzzle, combining two items, and getting out of the room. When you try to exit the Inn the credits roll and the "game" mercifully exits to desktop.

That's it! Add to this sub-par graphics and horrible voice acting and you have nothing more than a massive waste of money.

If you really have nothing better to spend your money on, do yourself a favor- go outside and light your money on fire. Sure that's a waste of money too, but trust me, it will be a heck of a lot more entertaining than this "game".

Controls are quite nnoying. The story and humour are fun. Some puzzles however are really hard to solve. Graphics are ok. A good bargain.

You will enjoy this game if you like dark humor and odd twist. I was skeptical when I started, but it grew on me. This game is a point and click adventure, so be prepared to be very annoyed just trying to get around, but the story is engaging and if you give it enough time, you’ll find yourself spending one too many hours on this game. Considering the price, I can recommend it without reservation.
