Gameplay in KF is, kinda like Tower Defense (wave based) and coop games, you must have coop team to survive in this game. Official server only limited to 6 player/instance and max 6 lv perks, but if you wants more challange go join custom server (max 32 player and more than 6 lv perks).

so far KF is the Best COOP Horror Survival games that i ever played.

I have been playing this game since launch and I still get goosebumps by slaying endless hordes of enemies. This game is worth every penny! Buy it, that's an ORDER! :)

Gameplay in Killing Floor is simple. Slaughter a batch of specimens, buy new equipment from the trader, and repeat until you have a boss fight with "The Patriarch," a nasty misanthrope with a rocket launcher, a chain gun, and the ability to go invisible. No verbose exposition, lengthy cutscenes, or half-baked attempts at character and story development are arbitrarily affixed to this pure first-person-shooter experience.

This game is one of the best co-op games you could have. When I first started playing a year ago, I didn't quite get the charm. It's difficult, for sure, and there's a lot of maps and guns. However, the more you play, the more addicting it gets. One of my most played games, with a lot of developer support even to this day and a lot of fanmade content to keep you coming back for more.

It's a pretty fun co-operative shooter with a lot of content and mods available. If you enjoy teamwork and challenge, definitely pick this up. Play with people you know, preferably!

Killing Floor review

By nemiobli posted 11th December 2012

The main problem with Killing Floor is that it looks too much like an amateurish and unpolished version of Left 4 Dead. Set in England town and countryside surrounded by zombies, a small team of soldiers need to survive an increasingly difficult waves of zombies attacks before moving on to another zone.

The only difference between KF and L4D is how weapons are handled. There is no crosshair so you need to take an aim to shoot thereby opening yourself to attacks of the zombies. The combat is deliberately slow and realistic that rewards accuracy, good strategy and team management. The game has a lot of zones for co-op play set in interesting settings. Also, the leveling mechanic is a nice touch.

The levels are large and varied, but poorly designed. Visually, KF looks bland with annoyingly bad special effects and voice acting with only a few lines of funny dialogue. There isn't enough of variety of zombie specialists, and this forces players to always use the same weapons and always position themselves in the same spots on the map.

Finally, considering that Killing Floor costs the same as Left 4 Dead, I cannot see a reason why you wouldn't rather play l4d instead. But if you need more co-op zombie shooter or you seek an alternative, Killing Floor will do.

This is a fantastic coop game to play with both friends and random people! Teamwork is comletely essential on the higher diffivulty levels, while it is okay to dick around a bit on the easier ones. There are a lot of different zombies, and tripwire constantly comes with holiday themed updates. And as usual with their games, the gunplay is completely fantastic, and feels and sounds amazing. Worth it!

It's a nice co-op game. It can be a lot of fun if you're playing it with your friends.

The only thing I don't like about this game are the huge amount of DLCs.

In my eyes it's as good as Left4Dead (2) by the way!

Counter Strike meets Left 4 Dead

By jpfernandez posted 2nd November 2012

Outside in the PC world, there a lot of zombie survival tittles for PC even better than this.

The graphics are a little old and unpolished, the music and sound are bit repetitive. The gameplay it's also repetitive and simple. It's powered by UnrealEngine2 and this tittle runs really nice on PC and even on Mac(better than left 4 dead).

Well, I admit that all of this sounds bad, but if liked the movies of Romero, Carpenter, o Argento. This game it's all you have wanted to play. I've seen some gameplay of this game on internet and i was bored. But a friend recommend it on Steam, I bought recently and I must say that "IT'S INCREDIBLY FUN".

If you liked Left 4 Dead and Counter Strike, please do youself a favor and give a try to Killing Floor.

It is worthwhile if you're a fan of Survival-Games - However it just isn't as good as Left4Dead(2) thus it uses the same engine. In addition to that the game gets repetitive rather quickly and without a friend to talk to on for example TS3 it justs gets pretty boring.

In a nutshell - Killing Floor is a six-player cooperative shooter remarkably similar to Call of Duty: World at War's Nazi Zombies mode. A key addition to Killing Floor - a slow-motion mode that activates when you or your teammates pull off an awesome kill, perfected through beautiful weapons animations and effects. Watching an enemy's head explode while bullet casings gently drift and grenades sail past your head is just cool as sh*t. The maps, for the most part, are well-designed.

Killer Co-Op Survival FPS!

By CivilFatality posted 19th June 2012

Killing Floor is an stellar co-op experience for users with less than optimal PC's and high end gaming rigs alike.

The basis is simple, you and up to 5 fellow survivors must take on waves of various kinds of "specimens" (much like zombies) and earn as much cash as possible to keep you and your mates well protected and armed. You earn cash directly by either killing specimens or healing your teammates. At the end of every wave, you have a short time period to run to the trader (location randomly rotated each round) and stock up on armor repairs, grenades, guns, ammo, swords, explosives, and whatever else you need to keep your squad alive. The waves get progressively longer and more difficult until you beat the final wave, upon which you must endure another round where you fight the game's boss called the Patriarch.

In the game, you can choose one of six classes to play as. While the classes don't have anything exclusive that you can use during gameplay, each class provides its own unique bonuses and discounts at the trader. These include the Medic (improved healing, discounts and bonuses on Armor and Medic guns), Support Specialist (improved welding doors, D&B on Shotguns), Sharpshooter (D&B on Pistols and Rifles), Commando (D&B on Grenades and Assault Rifles), Berserker (D&B on Melee Weapons), Firebug (D&B on SMG's and Flamethrowers), and Demolition (D&B on Pipe Bombs, Grenade Launchers, and Light Anti-Tank Weapons or L.A.W's).

Each class have 7 levels to be obtained, with each level increasing the bonuses gained by using that class. These levels are not earned by an XP function, but by earned by accomplishing tasks that are related to the class's purpose (such as getting a certain number of team healing points for Medic).

The game has 22 officially released maps on the main client and is compatible with dozens of frequently used community maps, any of which can be played by joining a server and waiting a short period for the game to download and load the map. In fact, the whitelist of maps is a mix of official and community maps that stretches to a whopping total of 277 maps! The selection of official maps is highly varied from large, open outdoor mountain passes to small the small narrow hallways of a biotics lab. No matter what your taste, I guarantee that there at least one map that you will attach yourself to and be excited every time it wins the map vote at the end of your game.

Weapons are also heavily varied, with anywhere between 3-6 unique weapons designed to be used for any given class.

In closing, Killing Floor is an amazing Survival FPS that Tripwire Interactive has put together that should be something that everyone has in their Steam library. It should not be overlooked simply because of its dated graphics. This is a must own for every PC gamer. You will pour dozens of hours into leveling up your classes and don't worry, the servers are still alive and always packed, even after all these years. Don't miss out on this one folks! Especially if it's on sale!

Killing Floor is a coop zombie survival game with support for 6 players coop.

it is a really fun and mindless shooter where you can just go in and blast away at zombies for a round or two with your friends.

The game has a nice leveling system, where for doing certain actions for certain classes (such as healing teammates, will get you medic exp) will level you up. A nice addition is the fact that you don't need to play as a certain class specifically to level it up. Headshots level up a class called 'Sharpshooter' and any headshots with any class will count towards that class.

When you understand the mechanics of the game is fun because you can evolve and improve your character.

The types of monsters that you are well differentiated and are original.

Graphically it is very good, but it's still a game recommended absolutamnte also rescued several points:

Implementation of RPG elements.

Good availability of weapons.

Large number of enemies.

Multitude of elements on screen at once.

Lovely game for co-op. Practically hundreds of hours of gameplay; when played with friends, you just can't stop playing. Decent graphics, althought not the best, but it's the gameplay that keeps you going on.

This game is a ton of fun with friends. If you have 2 or more friends willing to play, then buy a few copies for them. The game is a co-op survival fps. It's very challenging you won't be able to just go around with an itchy trigger finger without running out of bullets. There are a few very minor glitches, but those aren't noticeable when you're busy running around trying to survive.

Coop fun

By abolat posted 17th February 2012

Well, the genre is really flooding with new games everyday, so it is nice to see some games with some different ideas come through. Similar to the left 4 dead series, takes place in a similar theme of a zombie filled world and a team of survivors trying to make it through. You select a class 8so does everyone in your team) in the beginning of the map. You start off with lower tier weapons and if you can make it to the next round, you have to get to a shop where you can buy more weapons. The "money" you have is based on the number of kills (and how you make the kills- head shots are worth more, for example). Each round increases the number of as well as the difficulty of the zombies.

The good:

- Co-op gameplay emphasized 8though sp is available)

- Several graphics settings available (if you have a lower end gpu)

The Bad:

- Very similar to other zombie fps games

- Not much of a story or single player "campaign"

Killing Floor is very satisfying

By azuregaming posted 13th February 2012

This is one of the best "zombie" games around if you like co-op play and surviving waves of enemies. The various guns have actual weight to them and feel like they pack a punch when fired. The perk system lets you play a variety of different ways to suit your style. Not to mention the varying characters to choose from(while as far as I know are all purely cosmetic choices)

And this game is actually challenging enough on normal when you first start, and has two difficulties beyond hard when that becomes too easy for you.

Killing floor is a fast, fun and frantic co-op game. Similar in some ways to games like Left 4 Dead. The game is well designed but clearly shows it's indie roots with a certain lack of polish. Still this does not distract from the fun, and this quirkiness adds to it's charm. Well worth the money, especially if you have friends you can play it with.

Dosh, get it while it's hot!

Buddy up to battle the undead in England. The premise is simple: kill specimens, get money, stock up on weapons, and survive. Voice acting is cheesy fun and the metal soundtrack grows on you. Extra skins can be purchased as DLC if you want to support the devs, and they're dirt cheap too, so why not?

Killing Floor review

By Minishodin posted 11th December 2011

They want your brains and they want it now, stand still too long and they'll get it. Killing Floor's story is... let's be honest, do we care about the story, no? Didn't think so. After starting the game you pick either solo play or online play but more detail on that later. In the game you pick a class, each class levels up by completing different tasks, sharpshooter needs head shots to level. Think of the classes like TF2 but PvE rather than PvP and levels and store rather then random drops. At the start you have only basic weapons, a handgun and a knife. As you complete a wave of ZOMBIES!!! you get a chance to shop at a store using pounds (god save the queen,) you earned by killing ZOMBIES!!! Live through all the waves and you win! Die and lose. Simple. The game can be played solo although it's much harder as the ZOMBIES!!! will easily and quickly surround you. Think of solo more as training for online play. Now online play is where the game really opens up. You have a choice of hosting your own game or browsing servers, at my last glance there were 300+ servers online, very nice stuff indeed. Now DLC has become a bad word these days but KF has done it right, maps and such are free, while packs to make your avatar, (no, not the Jame Cameron movie) look different cost. All and All, you just got to ask yourself, wanna kill ZOMBIES!!!? If you say yes, play this. If you want to kill ZOMBIES!!! with friends, get this now.

ollowing is true story :

Ramadan 2009, me and my roommates play this game from when we finished class till Sahur time, stop only for assignments, sleep deprivation and toilet. We went on for almost the whole month.

This game puts you and your teammates against waves of blood thirsty mutants, ready to tear you apart. You gain money by how many mutants you've put down, money is used for purchasing weapons, restock on grenades, buy body armor etc. etc. to prepare yourself against the incoming waves of mutants.

You can pick your class from 6 different classes, Medic, Support Specialist, Commando, Beserker, Sharpshooter, Firebug and the Demolition. Each specialize in their own field to combat against the mutants or aid own allies.

Killing Floor also have lots of different kind of mutants with their own unique ability.

This game is seriously fun IMO and I recommend this game for people who likes FPS, horror and survival games. Grab it!!

Great game if you can find a good group to play with. At a certain level, cooperation is required. Graphics a bit dated now, but it still runs great and is lots of fun. I'm not a big fan of the slow mo head shot though. Strange implementation for a multiplayer game.

Killing Floor review

By PanzerBallz posted 2nd November 2011

This is a great coop game in which you survive against waves of mutated "specimens". At the end of each wave, you can go to the shop to buy weapons, armor, and explosives; however, the location of the shop at the end of each wave is different so as to prevent camping. Players are encouraged to work together, helping each other with money, healing, etc. A pretty cool gameplay feature is "Zed" time, which is basically a few seconds of slow-mo that the player can use to adjust their aim. You can also level up your perks, which are basically classes such as medic or support that you can choose to give you weapon, health, and other bonuses.

However, this game may become repetitive or boring fast since survival is the only gamemode. If you like fighting hordes of zombies coming at you, this is the game for you.

Maybe best surviving co-op game. Game mechanic is wonderful, guns have real recoil, players(i don't know why) are so co-operative minded and fair. There is good maps and just enough creepy enemies. Also there is available some cool charecter/costume packs, for so good price.

I think this is one of the best co-op surviving games.

Killing Floor : One of the Best Multiplayer FPS!

By ketersephirot posted 30th September 2011

Killing Floor (KF from now) is one of the best multiplayer game I have played so far.

Running on Unreal Engine, KF offer immediate action and serious fun.

At first sight it can look like a ripoff of L4D, but the gameplay is radically different:

basically every map is an arena where you must fight waves of zombie until the boss appear.

You start simply with a pistol but every Zombie you kill you will awarded with cash.

Between one wave and another you can access the ingame shop to but new weapons, ammo, armor or granades.

Every player have a very limited amount of space in the inventory (about 15 slot) so usually you can just bring with you 2/3 weapons.

The game also offer a class/level system where you can improve you damage reacing specific achievmente.

For example if you keep headshooting your enemy you will increase your sharpshooter level and some weapons reload faster, do more damage or just are cheaper to buy.

You can only select one perk at time and the only way to survive is to have a good and various team.

The game is also enjoyable in single player however the lack of CPU controlled allied makes really really harder to survive a wave of zombies.

IMHO it's a great game for short online matches, because a game generally last 10/20 minute.

Such an enjoyable co-op experience, the levels are well made and add great atmosphere (creepy), the gun play is fantastic, difficulty levels are appropriate.

It would be great to see some more weapons, however it is a cheaper game so im totally ok with the selection provided and there is enough variety for different play styles. Deffinatly has replayability due to the amount of maps and diversity of players/monsters.

Best Co-op Zombie Shooter that I've Played

By banks1990 posted 21st August 2011

If you are looking for a game that gives you good time shooting down zombies(or in this case, rejected specimens), this is the game you're looking for.

Each game consists of waves and waves of enemies hungry for a death hug with you, and it's you job to make sure they get blasted into pieces before the embrace. Between every wave you can stock up your weapons and armour with a fearless lady trader who apparently invisible to the enemies, since she travels around the map, prompting you to rush to her shops once the wave has ended.

This game have meaty gun that looks good, feels good and sounds real with perk system that give you a choice between 6 perks/classes. Each perks can be levelled up, so you will gain more benefit by training your skills with the perks you enjoyed using.

I'm 4 hours into the game and I can't stop playing! The graphics is good enough for me, and the gameplay is awesome! By the way, please ignore the solo option as this game is best served with co-ops!

Killing Floor review

By Garfboy posted 21st August 2011

This is a fantastic game for multiplayer, and unlike most defense games you can actually weld doors shut to provide some customization in your defenses (it has durability that falls as it gets attacked). If you've got friends who like shooters/wave defense, pick this up!

Tesco Value Zombie Fun!

By james_369 posted 19th August 2011

Not bad, occasionally very fun to play even! Graphics are so-so, which gives the game a budgety feel, along with the rather suspect AI. Yes i am holding off the inevitable comparrison to L4D, because well its like comparing tesco value baked beans to heinz. That said tesco value baked beans taste great in a fry up when youre hungover on a night out, and similarly there are magically moments in this game when you are simply having a blast with your friends, and don't notice the cheapness.

Pick it up while it's cheap, it's just not for the connoseuir

I bought this game about a month ago and I have to say since then I been playing in constantly, it’s just loads fun especially when playing with friends.

There is both single player and co-op but this game is really meant to be played online with other players, the single player to me is there mostly for you to become familiar with the game before jumping online.

The game has been out for quite awhile but it still has lots of players playing it, those of you from Australia like me will be happy to know that there are also Australian servers available.

I don't know what else to say other than if you like FPS, survival horror or team/co-op type games you should check this one out.

Killing Floor review

By rilleone posted 4th June 2011

The game is based on a modification for Unreal Tournament 2004 from 2005 but was first released as a standalone product in May 2009.

This may explain why the graphics feels outdated. But with a good atmosphere and total zombie slaughter, graphic works in the long run.

The researchers failed experiment on humans, of course, ended in the most worst way, now invaded the streets of brain-dead living dead and you can act alone or together with others to stop the madness.

Killing Floor is using a smart-level system that makes you better at what you use such as Field Medic(heal yourself or others), Berserker(melee properties), Sharpshooter(accuracy).

The first time you play KF, it feels like a mediocre and archaic Fps has been on the shelf collecting dust, but the longer you play, the more you want to continue.
