This is definitely one of the best strategy games of this type and the best one of 1C company, which usually releases mediocre to terrible games. The Crossworlds improves Armored Princess a lot and if you liked the vanilla or AP, you will definitely like this one.

A good expansion for Armored princess. Adds some nice stuff and new campaigns. If you like the base game, get it on a sale, it is still a bit expensive.

An extension of what we've seen in King's Bounty: Armored Princess. Not much new to see here, but plenty for die-hard fans of the series who need more strategic battles with fantastic creatures. Play the others first and decide for yourself if this one is worth getting.

King's Bounty Armored Princess, is a great game that feels like Heroes of Might and Magic.

This expansion adds a good amount of extra stuff for the game, which already was really great.

More stuff to do, more to play. This is a great expansion.

As we today get dlcs with smaller stuff for, actually almost the same amount of money, we get put up with a nice amount of stuff.

This expansion adds more of the same to the King's Bounty tbs, in addition to polishing off some of the rough edges of previous parts of the series. If, like me, you enjoyed the previous installments, you will enjoy this one as well.

The old school remake of a classic game. Kings bounty is a challening and engaging strategy game in vein of heroes of might and magic. It is a very long game but it is a lot of fun.

I cannot say enough good things about the King's bounty series, and this "expansion" is no exception. Entertaining, humorous, storyline, as well as adding new interesting creatures, with excellent turnbased combat. I cannot recommend this game enough, even if you don't get it on sale, just get it.

A good expansion

Two new, fairly large campaigns, plus a revamped orc faction for the original Armoured Princess campaign. Doesn't shake the game at its base, but it was never supposed to.

If you loved Armored Princess, I wholeheartedly recommend this one.

A nice game in King's Bounty series. If you are a fan you will enjoy this one as well. I did. The graphics were decent but more importantly, it's the gameplay that keeps you playing.

Pretty good game in the King's Bounty series. Although it didn't feel quite to live up to the first instalment it gives a couple of new scenarios to play. If you enjoyed the first King Bounty games and want new scenarios to play, then this will give you hours of more game play in the same manner.

You might want to consider any of the 1C bundles available that includes this title.

Well, first, let's get this out: the dialogues suck. And you'll see plenty, seeing this is a non-linear game. The problem I think is the translation; it's a Russian game and I'm sure they knew what they were writing in Russian, but at some point something got lost and you're left with characters that sound like they're children (not that there is voice acting).

Anyway. The gameplay is great. There's two parts to it: exploring, and fighting. Fighting is kinda like Heroes of Might and Magic. You're on a grid reminiscent of a chess board, and you move your troops around, turn-based style. In Crossworlds, you also unlock 4 Spirits with unique devastating abilities that recharge differently for each spirit. You also have several spells to cast.

Exploring is nothing like Heroes though. It's entirely in real time, which means enemies will pursue you if you get too close and you better hope you can react fast enough to get away (that's also a nice addition: from the very start you can find enemies way out of your level. It does add a dimension to the game; you'll have to think twice before taking action).

The game is non-linear since there are plenty of side quests. However, you have to recruit units from different buildings, and there's a limited number. Building A for example might have 50 archers while building B has 25. If you exhaust both buildings, you won't be able to recruit archers, period.

By making progress in the main quests, you can unlock an unlimited supply of archers - or any troop, really. Therefore at some point you'll have to think a bit and keep the story going.

I do have to note this is how I remember it. I haven't played in a while but I remember it was like that in the first (The Legend).

Now, we're in presence of an expansion pack here and I'm fairly sure it needs Armored Princess to work seeing it installs in the same directory.

Therefore, not wanting to review Armored Princess, I'll skip to Crossworlds: it adds a lot, and in a day and age where we're bombarbed with DLCs, it's nice to have a huge pack come out. The game editor itself is great if you have friends to share maps with and the campaigns will add a lot of hours to your save file. The rest is just bonus.

This is my favorite series of turn based fantasy strategy games on the market and Crossworlds is my second favorite. It's beautiful to look at, easy to pick up but difficult to master. Has a load of units and spells. Is easy to see and isn't muddy. It's fun what more do I need to say?

A upgraded Armored Princess, it adds a bit of content(an entire orc campaign) and polishes an already brilliantly shining game. The only problem I see is that the content is mostly within the base game so if you just played through Armored Princess, you might not want to go through it again just to see the new stuff, at least not so soon.

While the addition of the Orcs and adrenaline system as nice, the other modes for this game are really just for the hardcore players who want a very unique challenge. If you buy this as part of a set for cheap it might be worth it if you're new to it, but a veteran who wants a challenge might find it more valuable than a Veteran who was interested in a few new units.

You need to have the previous game (Armored Princess) to play this. If you don't have that game then GET IT! I can't stress enough how much good has the King's Bounty series done to turn based games. If you have Armored Princess then you know very well what to expect and getting this one also it's just the logical next step for you.

This is the expansion of the original king's bounty, which involves new items, quests, mobs, etc. Just like HoMM, it's one of the best in TBS genre, and you should definately get it if you are into this kind of game. It can get a bit repetitive, but its well worth your money at this price. Get this!

Expansion for hardcore fans

By mefet posted 9th April 2012

Perhaps you will ask yourself why I rate this expansion 5 stars and say that it's for hardcore fans? Well, if after giving armored princess 20-30 hours at least you still want to play more, you must really like this game!

The expansion give you two more short stories, and expands the main armored princess game. That's the only flaw I see on it. You must replay armored princess to see the orcs expansion. But if you have not played armored princess yet, get Crossworlds and enjoy! Just be sure to select the expanded campaign instead of the normal one when you start the game.

Champion of the Arena takes you back to playing as a male knight trying to earn a Champion Belt by battling 8 different, slightly tweaked bosses from the original games. As you progress through the arena you can join different guilds that provide different gear and units. This mode definitely makes the player manage their money appropriately or else face too weak a force to win the next battle. I did notice that playing a warrior was not a good strategy for rage is practically useless in this game mode.

In Defender of the Crown the player must protect several Isles being besieged by Lizardmen forces. This is more or less a linear fight after fight till victory. I noticed neither new units nor new items during my playthrough. Each battle you fight in this mode makes the battlefield work against you. For example you may have to cross a bridge that has all Lighting rods on it or the enemy receives a barracks that periodically gives them a lot more units. Couple these disadvantages with your low leadership and you'll need a decent strategy to prevail.

The last addition is called the Orcs on the March. This is King's Bounty: Armored Princess with the additional units, spells, skills, and items as promised. Having played this expansion I see no point in playing the original game. Orcs on the March gives the player early Orc units plus others with drastically changed abilities. Some are even overpowered like the particular Archmage that cost 2000 leadership. All improved Orc units now also have an ability to collect adrenaline based on how you fight. Acquiring adrenaline provides each unit with unique abilities (some require unit sacrificing)that help bring devastation to the battlefield. In addition to these new features, there was also a new tower dungeon that was reachable very earlier.

If You get King's Bounty Legend and Armored Princess, You need to have this add-on too (but remember that You need to have Armored Princess to run it). When You install it, You get 2 new campaigns and new extensions as units, spells and quests. And the most important You get also editor, which gives You unlimited possibilities to make Your own maps. I like King's Bounty series and I like this add-on too, it keeps the level of previous titles.

The Good:

- addictive gameplay: leveling and exploring the world is fun

- battles can be extremely fun: Armored Princess takes the battle engine from Heroes of Might and Magic and hones it to perfection.

- excellent music!

- good value

The Bad:

- battles against creeps get repetive in the main game.

Armored Princess is a good game, but the battles against basic creeps can get repetitive. Because of this, I haven't yet managed to complete the main campaign. However, Crossworlds fixes this flaw by offering two short campaigns which basically feature only the interesting battles and accelerate leveling. These also have an element of randomness which adds replay value. Like this, the game is definitely worth experiencing.

No reason to play Armored Princess without this! Extra units, items and quest that make the whole experience better. Though, if you have played through Armored Princess several times, you may think that it's not enough extra content to make another playthrough interesting enough.

So basically, if you haven't played KB:AP yet, buy this to go with it. Otherwise, buy it when it's on sale.

An excellent addition to Armored Princess. The new units are extremely well balanced, and everything is polished. If you buy the King's Bounty pack, though, I recommend doing this campaign instead of the Armored Princess main campaign, as there is a lot of... ahem... crossover! This is more of an excellent Armored Princess 2.0 than a separate title.

I have been a fan of the Kings Bounty series, so its no surprize that I enjoyed this expansion. I would say to those who have played the original games, you will enjoy the expansion.

If you are new to Kings Bounty, or enjoyed Hero's of might and magic, you will enjoy this game as well.

King's Bounty Crossworlds review

Crossworlds is well worth buying if you don't have Armored Princess already. It's even probably worth buying if you do. On to the modes:

Orcs on the march: This is a slightly expanded and improved Armored Princess campaign. It's a good excuse to play it again if you've already done so, and there's no reason to play the base game if you have both. The orcs are fun to play and there's a number of new items, quests, and enemies that make the world even more varied.

The Arena: Really fun, but also really short. Essentially a 'just get to the battles' mode for king's bounty, with a bunch of boss-type battles. I finished this in one (rather long) sitting.

The other short campaign (forgot the name): A very fun campaign with increasingly difficult/unfair battles you have to overcome. I felt a little bit like dragon army in Ender's Game, and that's a good thing. Also short, but not as short as the arena campaign.

I haven't had any real interest in using the editor, so I can't give any useful information about that.

Considering that the base game (which is itself a standalone expansion) is excellent, being one of the best Heroes of Might and Magic-like games, this expansion, which adds improvements, campaigns and other such goodies to it can not be anything but excellent as well. Extremely recommended.

Every Heroes of might and magic fan must take a look at King's Bounty. Is has much of the depth you can find in HOMM; character development, combat, etc.

The only lack in the game is that there is no multiplayer possibility, but the game has been built like this to be more appealing for single-player games. There is plenty of play time in single-player to make this game last for a long time.

The game offers a built-in 3D that can be switched on and viewed using red-cyan glasses. It is quite special if you never experienced 3Dvision but the cursor is not 3D. This makes it hard to click on objets when playing in that mode. Is is however something special to try.

This is the expansion of the sequel / expansion of King’s Bounty The Legend, a fantasy tactical RPG turn-based. If Armored Princess was one of the more acclaimed expansions, Crossworlds is even better. If you ever loved orcs from the previous games, here they obtain a new re-balanced system that makes them powerful allies (or deadly enemies, in particular playing at high level of difficulty). So what’s inside here? New quests for the main campaign, new units, the orc units completely revisited, and two new post-campaigns. Is it worth to play it if you have already finished Armored Princess? I think yes, this expansion adds a great replay value to the previous game. But if you haven’t played AP, and you like Heroes of Might & Magic saga, jump immediately on this product. Really addictive!

King's Bounty Crossworlds review

By mbpopolano24 posted 4th March 2011

Although the new contents are not that great, I am so addicted to this game that even the small changes to the campaign 'forced' me to play it from the beginning to the end twice more (easily another 75 hours for doing that, since I always play at the hardest difficulty levels and each battle can take forever to finish - which is, un my book, a great thing). I was also hoping that the editor released with this installment of King's Bounty would have opened endless possibility due to fan-made adventures. I also had a plan to create my own, but I was discouraged by how difficult and buggy the editor is. I guess this must have been a common reaction because after many months there is not a single new adventure ready. Nevertheless, the new 2 short (very short) campaigns and the changes to the original Armored Princess campaign are enough to recommend this game. Let's hope they are working on the sequel, King's Bounty 2.

Great expansion to a totally awesome game. What you get are two totally new shorter campaigns (Defender of The Crown and Champion of the Arena) plus a massive expansion to the Armored Princess (Orcs on the March). King's Bounty The Legend and Armored Princess are the only games in my gaming history (and I've been playing games for almost 20 years) that I finished 3 times (different character and different level of difficulty) and that after completing them you want to start them all over again. It is mainly because every time you start the game, the enemies, items, spells that you can buy are randomly chosen and it is a thrilling experience every time you play.

The shorter campaigns are challenging and thrilling and levelling up is a accelarated (after every battle you get a level or two) and they are full of surprises - in Defender of the Crown you can buy a set of medals for just 20k :)

Crossworlds is a good addition to the Armored Princess and it's a must-have for every fan of this totally awesome series. Plus the price is sweet as well...

King's Bounty Crossworlds review

"Crossworlds", I would sum up like this: A classic, cheap, minimum-effort DLC like other DLC's we've seen the last years. 2 stars for innovation and the new campaigns, 5 stars for really well-documented Editor, minus some "star value" for fundamental bugs, I'd say a fair "3 star" -effort, total.

It features some new, and some really amusing things and ideas, but most are really just cosmetic changes to the old... "Let's change this color... Take this animation and paste it on top of that... Does that work?" -kind of thing.

The "most new", in this package, is the Campaign Editor. I guess that 1C now were ready to "release the code to the open market".

The 2 "new" campaigns are really just small, compressed ones, based on old stuff. "The-old-games-in-a-nutshell", I would say. They are, however good examples of what the substantial Campaign Editor is capable of! :-) ...as long as it doesn't crash. There is a bug there, when making own scenarios.

And by the way, beware of the "Shaman bug" in the campaign "Orcs on the Marsh" - the extention to the main campaign in Armored princess. The bug works like this: The game crashes when fighting Orc Shaman / Blood Shaman units; at least on my system. I have submitted detailed info to 1C tech support. They seem to be working on it.

By vmxa posted 21st September 2010

I would say that, if you own KBTL and KBAP, you really cannot justify getting this one. If you only have KBTL, best get Crossworlds now.

If you have neither KBTL or KBAP get the GoTY and enjoy.

The reason I would not bother to get this having the prior two is is it more of the same, but very limited new play.

The bumped up March Of the Orcs adds a bit, but you have seen it already. The other two campaigns I did both in the same day. Very short and all the lands will be familiar.

Most of the new spells are just the Spirit skills from KBTL. Lots of new items, but so what?
