Heroes of Might and Magic V was a return to form for the series, despite (or possibly because of?) the original developers not being the ones to complete it. In many ways, it took what was great about the previous four installments while cutting a lot of the more tedious elements.

Tribes of the East is a standalone "expansion" to Heroes V, though I use the term "expansion" loosely. This adds the Orc faction, however you also get all of the Heroes V factions plus the Dwarves introduced in Hammers of Fate. While the campaign storyline is theoretically a continuation of the main Heroes V plot, it was designed with new players in mind and so a quick synopsis later and you're fully up to speed. What you will miss out on are the additional freeplay / multiplayer maps, however as always a map editor is available should the maps provided prove scarce, or you can always download other player's efforts.

The orcs have been re-imagined in line with those in their franchise sibling Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and thus a little more savage and brutal rather than the comedic types of old. As with the rest of the rebooted factions they include their own heroes and specialist skills which add an interesting twist to the tactical combats. There's no fundamental changes to the game introduced here though, it literally is HoMM V with more stuff, thus you probably already know how you feel about it if you're a fan of the original HoMM V.

For newcomers to the series this is an excellent starting point, giving you the most complete game content to play with at the expense of missing the other faction specific storylines.

Another Great Expansion for Heroes 5, adds more content and yet another faction to the mix. Adds way more replayability to such a fun game is only a good thing. Too bad there wont be another one. Buy this if you have Heroes 5

Great expansion pack if you liked the original fifth instalment of Heroes of might and magic series.

Some minor bugs still in there and no new patches coming anymore, since the game makers got kicked from job but still can bring many hours of fun, atleast it brought to me:)
