Excellent game! One of the best grand strategy games out there. Paradox is right on the money with this game and should continue to develop more games using the HOI 2 platform.

Another great expansion for Hearts of Iron 2. Adds many new features like unit addons and fixes some issues with combat. Must have for Hearts of Iron 2 owners! 4 stars only because I think they could have added more "Armageddon" type content.

Masterpiece of a game. If you like Paradox's other games than this is a must. Only 4 stars because of the VERY steep learning curve. Prepare to set aside a work week just to learn how to play and fully understand this game. Not for the faint of heart.

Hearts of Iron II was my first experience with a Paradox Interactive game and it was a little confusing at first for me. However, after playing around a bit and looking at guides from the Paradox interactive forums it easily became one of my all time favorite games. The Doomsday expansion pack was a great expansion to an already great game. The Armageddon expansion pack, while lacking on the scenario side, is definitely my favorite expansion to the Hearts of Iron games due simply to improvements to the game. Armageddon allows you to build units with their own brigades rather than having to attach them all after they are built. You can also upgrade a unit from the industrial screen, so you no longer have to stop a serial builds to update your new units. If that isn't enough to sell someone on this, this expansion is essential for anyone interested in any of the user created mods as most of them require Armageddon and if you haven't looked at any of the mods, do it!

As a big strategy gamer and fan, I have to say that I loved playing Paradox Interactive's Hearts of Iron. Doomsday Armageddon blew me away however: with the ability to stretch the game into the middle of the Cold War, as well as a few Alternate History Scenarios (which, as much as I hate to say it, do not seem to be as polished as the other scenarios, mostly due to the similar stacks of units (divisions, planes and ships) you get at the beginning, no matter the nation you play.

The Doomsday scenario is also fun to do as well, and a difficult challenge no matter the choice you make. But I say being able to play from 1936, then ending it in 1964, is the best way to play this game, allowing you the full breadth of history, as well as the ability to change it to your liking.

I loved Doomsday but unfortunately I wasn't terribly impressed with Armageddon. The world feels too artificial since the nations are all too well balanced. Perhaps that makes it better for multiplayer, but I like it when my alternate history is more believable.

This game is very polished with the latest beta patch and still playable. I prefer it to Hearts of Iron 3 due to it's simplicity and easy interface. If you're having trouble with Hearts of Iron 3, get this as it is much more simple yet still deep strategically. Also there are many mods that prolong the life time of this game, including Cold War and World War 1 mods, so I heavily recommend this.

This additional content for HOI 2 make Armageddon a welcome addition to the line. The best part of this addon is the extension of the timeline, giving you more time to conquer the world, research your technology, and play with more advanced units.

This is a small add on to the HoI 2 game.Its not really a expansion or anything, but just a new world scenario. I do like it even if a would have like to see more improvements in it. It's fun to start up a campaign in this if you're getting tired of the realistic world scenarios. And for this price, even if you just get a couple of hours of fun, it's still worth it.

Armageddon is a worthy add-on for Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday. It gives some interesting new features like attachments to naval units and above all 2 new alternative history scenarios.

Sometimes it seems that Paradox make you pay for nothing more than patches, but if you want to play HOI 2 without the constrictions of WWII history this expansion is a good purchase.

It is a great game the HOI 2 by itself, but this expansion is the best and recommended especially if you want a more balanced games in HOI 2 with it's two alternate maps.

I enjoyed the graphics too, which is, in my opinion, perfectly tuned to the requirements of the game.

At this price it is a steal. Two fairly interesting alternate history scenarios and gameplay enhancements for only five dollars. If you enjoyed the base game and Doomsday then you will really enjoy this.

Loved it. Where HOI3 fell flat this expac keep delivering. In expanding the scope of the game Paradox did what it does best, take it already good idea and make it great.

This good old compendium has aged pretty well even after such a long time since its release. While it's definitely not as good as the renovated versions like Arsenal of Democracy and Darkest Hour, this is still a good and (sort of) breezy way to familiarise yourself with the complex and sophisticated gameplay of the HOI series before playing with more advanced features found in AOD and DH. Plus, there are still enough mods hanging around should you need a fresh breath of air, like CORE, Kaiserreich and Fallout Doomsday.

The crown of HOI II, and this expansion is necesary if you want tro try one of the "fan" made expansions like Iron Cross, or Darkest hour.

If you like Hoi II, its a must.

Very good add-on to great strategy game. Doomsday was very important to HoI2 as it improved, added and fixed a lot of things and everyone who buys HoI2 should get it. Armageddon is not so essential to enjoy the game to the max as added campaign is lacking and other improvments are not so notable.

Main reason to get it is compatibility with some mods and also if you don't want to leave the world of HoI2 yet but are getting bored with Doomsday.

A wonderful strategy game, and a very worthwhile expansion.

The expanded end date is always welcome, and the addition of 'brigades' for ships (the ability to add, for example, fire control systems) makes the decision to keep or scrap old ships a bit more interesting.

The AI can sometimes be a bit questionable, but seeing what happens is half of the fun - watching Japan storm through India, and reach the Suez Canal makes for a strange, but fun, game.

For 5 USD, this is really a no-brainer to purchase. I bought HoI3 and was sadly disappointed. So, I reloaded HoI2:DD, then added this and have had a great time! The ability at adjust your ship's capabilities is a great thing, such as specialized ASW or AAA. Elimination of the micro-management of spies was also very welcome.

This is the final, grand expansion of HOI2. Any player who has not moved on to HOI3 should pick this up. If you have moved on, you might find difficulty moving back. I like playing the tech tree, and the newer game's leadership points work much better at simulating national differences in tech ability than does the system in HOI2. That said, get this if you like HOI2. Try out the divided U.S. scenario. Go nuke crazy.

A worthwhile expansion to Hearts of Iron 2. the game time date extension is worthwhile, whilst the tech and brigading/unit improvements make it a better gaming experience than vanilla HOI3.

Though some may wish to buy the Arsenal of democracy, which is a seperate stand alone.

A great expansion to a great game. Adds a few years at the end and cut's out some micromanagement; among other great features. I highly recommend this expansion to anyone who has bought Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday.

This is a great expansion for HOI2:DD. Not only does it take the game into the early 1960's, but adds attachments for naval vessels. The Armageddon scenario is essentially a "scenario" due to the nations that are playable and to me is the only real weak spot of this game. I would recommend if you have the DD game already, if not, then go for Arsenal of Democracy instead.

Good expasion to the already brilliant game. For the price of 2£ it is very good pruchase as Iron Cross will only work with this expasion only. Not that many improvemnets but enough to make it worthy its price.

Great add-on, the extra time available really allows you to see through the war(s) and global domination to the end.

Skip this one and go directly to ARSENAL OF DEMOCRACY instead.

This expansion adds six more years, many new technologies and many new units. The new options for technology and equipping your navy are welcome additions as well. The game now allows you to use the technology teams of annexed nations, making research much easier for a victorious nation. Naval equipment, such as improved hulls, radar, fire control, and anti-submarine warfare can be attached to most ships (with the exception of carriers and submarines) and can be upgraded with the proper technology. The biggest change found in Armageddon

scenario that lacks much of the realism involved with the original HOI.

Anyway, Armageddon brings added depth to a game that can already engross you in its complexity.

If you like HoI 2, then you will love this addon. It brings Brigade attachements to Landunits and Naval upgrades, so you can select of upgrading your Battleship with Radar or Sonar for example or just scrap it.

The 2 new campaigns are a bit weired but ok.

A great improvement over the original, which has made the small little micro-management details of HOI2 so much easier! In addition the improved AI does change the entire outcomes of campaigns but also provides a semi-what if to the game by the AI and not the player...which is refreshing. For instance, if Germany did not invade the USSR...Germany gets invaded by the AI USSR! Historically this is deemed accurate in a what-if, so its a great expansion!

A very nice addition to HOI2; while I don't really like the alternate scenarios, the small enhancements this expansion provides are more then worth the price; especially ship enhancements, building units with brigades already attached, army strategies... make HOI2 interesting and new again...

For those who bought HOI2 Doomsday, this is definitely a must. The new options before you start the game, the new brigade build menu, the new ship brigades, and the new scenarios are all worth it. And for just a token price!!! However, if you don't have Doomsday yet, it would be best to just buy HOI2 Complete.

The brigade improvements and bug fixes alone make this worth the price, and the alternate history scenarios are good for multiplayer due to their balanced starting positions. It is well worth buying if you already have HOI2 Doomsday, but players who do not own Doomsday or the original HOI2 would be better served by buying HOI2 Complete.

Until AOD ( HOI3 was botched and hopefully improves with Semper Fi) it was the best game i ever played in this particular genre. Only thing that bothered me that some bugs were never ever removed or remained for a long time such as ghostfleets and stuff.

As i was at first reluctant to try out fanmods i regret this and would now heartily recommend the various mods published in the pi-forum ( according to your tastes of course).

Wow, what a game. Surely a 5 star in my mind. This "expansion" gives you new options for once the germans are defeated, and allows easier commiturn versus allies play. New techs are cool as well and spice up the late game no matter what side is winning. Ai improvements also help and refine the game even more. A must buy for those who like WW2 games.

For only $5, this expansion is definately worth the price. For mods, it allows a much larger amount of country tags. I didn't think the two fantasy scenarios were the best, but that doesn't mean this expansion doesn't add anything to the game.

This is a expansion for Hears of Iron 2 Doomsday, doesn't improve the game, instead of this, they will change all the game, all the nations... all. Is like more like a MOD, but is so complete that can be a standalone game. I am a little dissapointed with this kind of expansion for HoI saga, because i think that never have to leave the true historical facts, but is a different way to play, with different scenarios. Like a say, a prefer historical game, i point this game with a 6/10.

If you are a hardcore strategy fan, then this is the expansion for you. It adds a ton of new features and gives the hardcore fan of HoI2 what they want, including the ability to build nuclear weapons. Great Expansion!

Simply the best add-on for any HOI product to date. Massive easy of play enhancements as well as a vastly improved AI.

The best Second World War strategy game I have every played - hands down. This game hits the sweet spot for production, combat, and technology - all the important parts are included and there is very little micro-managing. The diplomatic and intelligence systems are a little weak but are still much better than any other game i've played. In addition the historical reseach that is behind the game is top notch including actual companies, scientists, politicians, and military leaders from every country that existed in the world at that time. A MUST have for any strategy or WWII fan.

A small expansion with not very many changes, although some more changes have been done in patches afterwards. Very cheap, 5 stars to an expansion to a fabolous game.

Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday is the best strategic level World War II game out there right now, it is still far superior to Hearts of Iron 3. This game has it all, economics, politics, espionage, intelligence, and of course the military aspects. You can play as virtually any country of the era, each with its own set of strengths and challenges. The historical depth and extensiveness of the game is great and overshadows the unimpressive graphics. No two games of HOI2 are the same and the replay value is off the charts. There is a learning curve with the game, so taking the time to review the manual and use the tutorials before jumping in really pays off with your enjoyment of the game.

This represents Hearts of Iron 2 in its most polished form. While the new scenario may not be everyones cup of tea there are also numerous tweaks to the base game. If you aren't too keen on HOI3 or lack the system requirements to run it this still has plenty to offer. It also plays differently to HOI3 which means it's still excellent in its own right and has not been made obsolete by the newer release.

If you're like me and you don't play HoI2 on the internet, don't even bother playing the alternate scenario. It's ridiculous. But I enjoy this game for the small tweaks that Paradox made to gameplay. Most importantly, being able to build units with attachments helps SO MUCH with my plans to conquer the world. The AI has been given a facelift, and sometimes the Nationalists (gasp) win the Spanish Civil War now. Overall, buy this game if you already have Doomsday and some money to spare.

This is an expansion for HOI2. There isn't much to say about it. It adds many nifty little features to an already excellent game. I don't care much for the new scenarios (but then again, I only play this game single player), but the game play additions are very nice. My favorite is the ability to upgrade systems on ships. Even though I play Germany a lot, little touches like this makes the game even more immersive. It is a no brainer, if you like HOI2 this inexpensive add-on adds some interesting aspects that make the near perfect HOI2 even better.

This add-on is an improvement in terms of game play mechanics. It allows you to add "brigades" to ships to upgrade various components such as radar, anti aircraft, or hull. This can make older ships perform better when you cannot afford to build new ones.

In terms of other major changes, the new end date of the game becomes 1964, allowing for almost 30 years of game play. Later dates allow for new technologies, and there is also a scenario which presents the ahistorical cold war turning hot.

There is also a new format of game which allows balanced fictional nations to duke it out, which is a multiplayer feature. I don't play multiplayer, so I cannot comment on how much fun it is.

This game deserves it's praise. The ability to pick and choose the tactics your army fights with is refreshing to say the least. Deciding whether to go submarines or carriers, human wave or blitzkrieg, atom bomb or V2. May seem slow at first, but once things start going they get going quickly.

Best game of the series and the WWII strategy genre. This small upgrade allows for much more modeling of combat units. Plus, the free mods increase the realism. Of course, there is room for improvement but it is the leader.

This is my absolute most favorite game. The accuracy of events and the detail of the game is unrivaled by any other World War 2 game out there. Very highly recommended for the ultimate armchair generals.

Armageddon is dangerous. Do not buy unless you are prepared to put in serious hours of nail biting WW2 resimulation. I'm not even sure if that's a word but I'm too busy having fun with this game to even care! It's alot of fun and very engrossing. If you were ever a fan of chess this game will be perfect for you.

Just a basic addon of the previous game features. The upgrade is totally worth the money and will add hours of gameplay to the original Doomsday expansion.

The addition of detachments and the two new scenarios are the main benefits I found in this expansion, but it's reasonable value for $5. It's also nice to have a scenario where you don't have to waste time and money being nice to minor countries. I've never worked out how air combat in HoI 2 actually works and that's never stopped me from doing OK so the changes to that aspect had no effect on the game play for me. The ability to allocate brigades to divisions not only streamlines unit creation but also seems t provide a slight time/cost saving over building them separately. The addition of detachments to ships had a huge influence on how I played because I no longer put off purchasing a ship "just until that next level of research is complete", I could instead just pack the ship full of detachments and know that while it would no longer be a top performer after a year or two it would still be a useable unit.

Awesome. Best WWII Strategy Game out there, so far. Well done Addon to HOI2. Adds very useful improvments to the original game.

I've been a huge fan of this game series going back to the original Hearts of Iron. Hearts of Iron 2 Armageddon expands the game beyond the original game by miles. In this game, you now have upgrades for ships such as improved hulls, radar, and fire control. There are a few other changes that improve the gameplay.

Like in other versions, they have added more scenarios to play. This includes an alternate world where the last few hundred years were changed so that we have a drastically different map. Prussia, The Confederate States, The European Soviet States; this scenario is alot of fun to play.

Overall, there are still some parts of the gameplay that I wish were different. For instance, I've often found that coordinating air and ground units proved to be just too tedious and often the air units just attack the general region where you order them to, not the exact province.

Thats just an example and they are really minor issues.

This is a game that you will play constantly. Tired of playing the US? Try your hand at being Japan or Germany or Italy or even see how you can do playing as Argentina or South Africa. There are just so many ways to play this game.

Simply superb. The inclusion of unit building with attachments and adjustable ship configurations removes a shed load of micromanagement.

The AI is the best ever of any HoI version. Of course it could be better, but I would say that. For 5euros an essential edition for the HoI purist!
