Hacker Evolution Duality

Rating: 3.6 (127 votes cast)

Hacker Evolution Duality is the upcoming hacking simulation game, developed by exosyphen studios. Based on the successful Hacker Evolution game series, it has been completely redesigned to offer an impressive and new gaming experience.

Hacker Evolution Duality starts in the early days of Brian Spencer when he was nothing more than a brilliant programmer. It then fast forwards to the future, where he has to stop an Artificial Intelligence he has created, unknowingly and take back control of a giant company he once used to own.

You have to hack into computers using various tools, from a basic firewall cracker, to sophisticated voice print authentication systems. Steal money to finance your objectives, buy hardware upgrades or bribe off other hackers that are present in the game. Go as far as bypassing complex security systems to make your way into buildings and steal data. Frame people or even murder them using ingenious traps.

You are not alone in the game. Other hackers controlled by a complex artificial intelligence, will stop at nothing to destroy you.

The game features a single player mode where you follow the game's story and an open world mode, where you play a death match against other hackers.

Key features:

  • Redesigned interface and game play
  • Large open world populated by AI hackers
  • Amazing new graphics, sounds and animations
  • Choice of game play: pursue the game's objectives, or play an open world game against AI controlled virtual hackers.

Hacker Evolution Duality review

By punktgie_press posted 20th March

Simulator of hacking.

It is very specific kind of gameplay where you make any action on world map and interface. This game required fast actions and logical thinking - your computer may be supported by hacked computers but enemies also tracking you. If they track you in 100%, you lost. So action quickly and use smart tools then you succeed.

Whatever this kind of gameplay I don't like. It's all so static and cause feelings of boring very fast. Original game but not game for me, sorry.

Hacker Evolution Duality - oh dear

Don't get me wrong this game is interesting, but as said by a number of people if you have played Uplink or similar titles where you have to do some hard work to win, then don't look here. The only hard thing to do here is to move and click your mouse fast enough.

The graphics are appealing, the sound and background music are equally good.

Again this is not a bad title, it is good and fun, but not much of a challenge. As said Uplink gives more depth into hardware management, console commands etc.

While A Solid Game With better music than the previous games ,i personally disliked how it became a game about fast clicks and a fancy GUI...

Hacker Evolution Duality : disappointed

Disappointed, poor and unrealistic trace management. Just a bunch a uninteresting mini-games.

My reference is Uplink from Introversion and it is so much better. At least, it fells realistic. Graphics are simpler but what is really important in a hack-sim game ? Not graphics for sure.

Going Swiss on this one...

I got this one with the Indiefort Promo 3/$3.99.

I also have to go with a Neutral Review on this one. I was interested in the puzzle/RT aspect of the game, but after just the third mission in the TUTORIAL, I was laughing. After you hack into a basic Firewall (Mission1) then Transfer some money (Mission2) you somehow get access to a military satellite orbiting the earth. Sorry, but an entry level hacker does NOT get access to a military satellite. Regardless of that, I can't say that I like the game or dislike it. It is not a super awesome game nor is it a piece of garbage, just average in my book and I can also say is that I'm glad that I did NOT pay full price for it.

This is a weird one, not exactly what I was hoping for. But Hacker Evolution Duality is a redesigned version of the other games, with a new interface that maybe is a bit TOO user friendly. It's a wonderful game in many ways, but the sense of realism I imagina th old games have more of seems lost. But if you like good strategy under stress, this is the game for you. Every level is like defusing a bomb under the toilet. Like in Die Hard 3! It's still thumbs up for this game, but I'm looking forward to playing the older versions plus the similar game called Uplink.

Overall a fun game but it gets old quickly. With each level you have to get through several layers of security in order to completely get through the system in order to reach your objective. For a game that you can pick up and put down and pick up again down the road it is not bad. However, unless you are a fan of this series..jumping in the series with Duality does not work well. The game play is pretty basic, click and point, no real interaction except for selecting things with your mouse and accepting jobs. How ever the story/game play is very linear, if you are unable to complete the task then you are stuck until you can complete it. Overall though to be fair the controls are simple to use and easy to learn. Though it does not take to much brain power to play.
