This is the official add-on to Gothic II. Gameplay is handled similarly, but there is much more to do. The story is woven seamlessly into the world of Gothic II, which is nice but also means that you will have to start a new character to play. And once you're finished with the add-on, you can take on the "old" world of Gothic IIonce more; this time with new weapons, new monsters, new spells and much more challenging character development. Get ready for 40 more hours of the sameGothic II gameplay in a previously undiscovered part of the island of Khorinis.

Gothic II: Night of the Raven review
Gothic II: Night of the Raven is a add on for Gothic 2 that opens new areas and enemies to the game it also as a added bonus make the world more difficulty than it was. recommended for all players of Gothic 2.
Gothic II: Night of the Raven review
To my shame, I can't get past the bad graphics and the awful engine. I'm sure I'd feel differently if I was an original player from it's launch, but the character movements and controls are beastly, and the graphics are about as bad as the first. I can't rate it down for that though, the game itself is full and fantastic, even if I can't enjoy it like others.
Gothic II: Night of the Raven review
players that played Gothic 2 will not be disappointed about this addon. In the original game you could choose between 3 classes,be a mercenary,a mage,or join the militia. But the addon introduces new choices for everyone. The Water Mages that played an important role in the original game but were represented by only a single character in the city of Khorinis, can now be found in the new areas of the world and future magicians might wish to learn their ways instead those of the Fire Mages.
The Night of the Raven give you another couple of hours of gameplay and expand the universe of Gothic.
Gothic II: Night of the Raven review
Good, although I did find that the installer did a few fault, which forced me to copy about four files from the "system" folder in the originall Gothic 2, to the new Gothic II which contains Night of the Raven, among them "SHW32.dll, so if any of you have problems like this just copy from the original Gothic 2 the files you need
Gothic II: Night of the Raven review
A great expansion to expand the Gothic universe more, while lacking harder challenges it makes up for it in content and explorations. A good expansion to get if you enjoyed the original, highly recommend to get this along with gothic II to get a full complete feel of it
Gothic II: Night of the Raven review
Night of the Raven is a direct addon to Gothic II which is to say it adds content through out the whole game opposed to just slapping on an extra end game quest. Because of the way the new content is weaved into the whole game it's almost required for you to restart to see it all, is that bad? Not at all, rarely is there so much work put into an expack. This is a must for anyone getting Gothic II, but know I'm a sucker for DLC. All and all, an addon you won't feel used for getting. A must get for Gothic lovers.
Gothic II: Night of the Raven review
The first Gothic was good and the second chapter of the saga was great. With this "add-in" it's simply one of the best and toughest RPG I've played and believe me, I've played a bunch. I use the term add-in as the content is seamlessly embedded in the story of the game thus needing you to start "fresh". But be assured it's worth your time and it'll gobble a huge amount of it...Indeed, it took me around 90 hours or so to complete the adventure. I did took my time, side-quested and explored all the nooks and caves of the game world. The add-in will grant you a complete new area to explore, new gear and enemies. But beware, it'll also crank up the difficulty level and cost of skill learning. I won't get in the detail of the storyline has it's somewhat complex but you'll get to see some old acquaintance of the original game and get a chance to join some new “guilds”. Owners of the gold version of G2 won't need to buy this as the expansion is obviously included. Final word, absolutely great and highly recommended but NOT for the faint of heart. If you easily get frustrated by a tough (almost brutal) game, stay away. A quick tip, save often because you'll die often.
