Good squad based rpg/strategy game. You have to utilize your hero's special abilities and figure out the best way to take down a pack of enemies. Hero's level up and get points which you can put to help give them new skills or strengthen existing skills. It's a point and click game, and you can use the pause button by pressing space bar to stop the game at any time. This is a nice feature if you are feeling overwhelmed giving your characters orders since you can give them orders while the game is paused. The only thing I didn't like about the game was there was a lot of micromanagement. You have to manually tell your character what to do every time. Even if your character is getting attacked he will just stand there and take it. There should have been some default options for characters like attack nearest enemy, or something to set some characters on auto pilot because it gets kind of tedious controlling every action for several characters. I still like this game though in spit of some flaws.

I have played this game quite a while ago now and i LOVED IT.

I guarantee happiness if you buy this game, even if it has old graphics , it is still exciting to play.

If you have never played the game before, i suggest you give it a fair chance after all it is quite cheap ;)

An interesting hack-slash RTS-RPG set in a comic world with all the classic comic-book stereotypes. It reminds me a little of the old X-men legends games for the X-Box as well as champions online, but that's probably just due to the art style. Game play is standard for the genre as well as controls. The dialog is where the real gems lay, cheesy lines with enough corn to feed everyone at a company BBQ, fans of "so bad it's good" will love it. All and all, a nice little game, that does show it's age but is still a blast.

Still somewhat the best superhero RPG you can find. From the comic style to the RPG elements, it almost does everything perfectly. Those superheros my not be so familiar, but you can find a lot of mod from the community making mods and implementing newer superheros. It is a must for both superhero fans and RPG fans.

I played that game some years ago.

The graphics are now a bit old for today standard but heck, I don't care because the awesomeness of the game is still there !

You can create your super heroe and that is just great !

The RPG parts in this game make it good but the comic style (alongside the cliché story) makes it a must have !

My only bad point is the AI of the teammates, I don't know if I am the only one getting that but sometimes they just won't do anything by themselves, even if bad guys are just 1 meter from them, beating me up... lazy and lousy sidekikcs. Also some mission are the same so it can get tedious some time

You like comics, super heroes, and want to have fun ? I think you can give freedom force a chance a try without fear !

I fail to see what Diablo has to do with this. For instance it isnt about killing 100s of random spawned minions.

The game has scripted encounters that make up a comic book. As well as using their superheroes you can make your own. This was the fun part for me.

That includes both choosing costume, colours as well as of course the powers. I used mostly my own people to have a team that supported each other. Twas much fun.

In fact I bought the download version just on account I no longer seem to have the original.

Also check out the followup Freedom Force vs the Third Reich.

As with any vintage game graphics are good for its time period.

Comic book superheroes of your own. Booyah!

A super-hero themed Diablo clone.

They certainly got the cheesy classic super hero theme spot-on, but to be honest, it failed to capture my my attention for long periods of time. I'm not really a huge fan of the point & click action RPG genre, anyway...but at this price, it's certainly worth a look. Especially if you like the genre.

Having said all that, I do enjoy it in quick bursts. :)
